Glad we got a good ending even if it was weird. The artist always seems to want to end these stories as mysterious and open for interpretation lol

Agree with all of this. And that’s pretty much how the genres work:

Impossible stuff happens because machines = science fiction.

Impossible stuff happens because magic = fantasy.

Impossible stuff happens, no magic, no machines = magic realism.

Impossible stuff happens, maybe some magic and/or machines, maybe not = Yoshitomi Akihito.

Pretty much that.

a cute and interesting read.

really appreciate how the author withheld so much of the story, and the story, revealing only the bits we needed to have.

Simoun ending

I was about to say that too lmao. This gave me the same vibes as the ending to Simoun and I don’t know if I like it or not (cuz Simoun made me feel strange feelings and bawl my eyes out)

So what was the relationship between Tomoka a and Mizuki??? From the last panel on page 5 in chapter 19 it seems to me that Mizuki had a crush on Tomoka, but she rejected her because of the gloomy background of the panel I think that's it. They don't really give us too much development of Tomoka so I can't say much or maybe Tomoka's little criticism caused Nana's sudden confession, causing Mizuki to reject her so Mizuki may have a grudge against Tomoka because of his rejection.
By the way, the device has to be some Keter class SCP thing apparently.
Or maybe the whole machine is a glitch in the Matrix, maybe they managed to free themselves from the repression of the machines. Although the theory of double suicide is also quite plausible.
This is fucking sad by the way.
I hadn't noticed but on the first page of chapter 18 the state of their relationship is noted, their friendship practically ended a few years ago. They were in the same school but they stopped being as attached as they were in the past, the photos evidence it and the photo that is in the last panel shows the change in her friend's personality, one is still innocent and the other seems more cunning. .. it's even sadder. The more I try to analyze it, the more I realize how sad all this is. There should definitely be a tag for one sided love in this manga or unrequited love.
MIzuki is basically a broken toy.

They are not dead, they are in the 24th ward.

Do they appear in any chapter?

An odd, somewhat haunting story this was. Certainly feels like it played to the author's strengths.

Yoshitomi sensei's art is easily recognizable!
I see the drawing, it instantly caught my attention and realized it's the same author from Sisterism!

You know in Ch 03..
They entered the world of VR, and that they saw the ruined cityscape flooded
Reminds me of those RPG games I've played.

It seems that they are very attached to the concept of the ruined cityscape, flooded, the dystopian world of 'future'
