Lots of teenagers have broken phones, I wouldn't read too much into it. Sakura's been presented as a clumsy airhead in Tsuruse's other works as well, so I'd say she just tends to not look after her stuff very well... I mean, she did just leave her backpack in the restroom.

But yeah, this is now definitely becoming a series that's not being told in chronological order. And I am all for it.

I read this, then read the meeting one (thanks for linking that, drpepperfan!) Given the meeting, I'm surprised Saaya wasn't more alarmed about the age gap in this one... or that she was willing to ask for Sakura's number at the meeting.

The phone doesn't bug me now, people drop their phones. OTOH I'm wondering why Sakura had to look up her address. And she gives "room number 2501", so while the translator used 'house', this seems more like a hotel room or apartment, in a big high rise. And maybe Sakura moved very recently, thus doesn't know her address?

Edit: though I guess given the rest of the 'series', I'm reading too much into things; no dark reveals or Sakura as manipulator.

Though maybe she's turned 18 the day after they met, making her "of age" in all of the situations above. Just switch out the number in that case.
Either way, she's not the most realistic character, but why let that stop your enjoyment? :D
