I don't ship it, but I like it how both, the anime and manga, leave hits of Rin having a crush on Sakura.
At the very least, she likes the blood-line.

The two pairings are kind of working different angles. The excitable, outgoing human-puppydog Nadeshiko is kind of the yin to Rin's yang, whereas Sakura is more like Rin's evolved form- still aloof, but with added beauty and maturity (as well as height.) I can see Rin falling for either one, just for different reasons.
