@hauntedcocoa: I admitted stalking your posts for a reason, you're not alone.

I spent most of my orbs in FEH and didn't get a single fairy character. Thankfully I did get two of the other units that were on rate up, another 5* unit and a decent amount of goodies. Apparently getting Okita Alter in FGO ate up my luck for a while...

I got the new fairy with the free ticket. I dont play the game, I just roll for my fav characters sorry. I wanted Say'ri

Stop deleting your comments for starters, then maybe people will start giving a fuck about you. Also I find it incredibly insulting that you say no one is willing to do anything for you, when multiple people here responded to your call for help and tried to talk to you. I guess they don't count and their support means jack shit to you. But I guess only thing you care about is your suffering and the fact you might be hurting them by saying those things, doesn't mean much to you.

EDIT/ Proving my point.

@Rye I got two copies of Say'ri, one of Dark! Julia, and a few others when all I wanted was the fairy. :(

Thankfully I did get Palla: Sisterly Trio, Bernadetta, Edelgard, and F! Byleth a while back so I'm happy in that regard. Too bad they still haven't added Dorothea or Marianne otherwise I'd (likely) spend some money on them... although I still don't have Hilda or Annette in my barracks for shipping purposes.

I guess that means you don't have Petra then? I've got her in my barracks a while back but haven't really used her that much. I might use the support system to pair her up with my Bernadetta since I ship them.

@bubbleteabird Happy (late) Birthday hope you had a good day today.

Posting here since the FGO thread died (again), anyway today I was finally able to get my Nero Bride up to 10/10/10 from 10/10/8 that's she's been at a while. I also got really lucky with my gacha rolls and it only took 2 tickets and 3 single rolls to get me a copy of Tamamo Lancer from the 10M Downloads campaign. She's my first SSR lancer... too bad I currently have no lancer XP cards to feed her though and my All XP cards are currently reserved for Ryouma and Okita Alter.

The full lockdown was lifted today over here in Panama, I'm not worried about morons killing themselves, but if cases skyrocket we'll be back at square 1 and that affects me and every other sane person :/

Aged like wine. We back to full quarantine. I hate people. Not even a full week.

@bubbleteabird: HBD!

@Sakura Cartelet: Its not ded yet, I'm just not used to it being active lol. I'll answer there.

^ IDK why, but when I read the

Aged like wine.

line, the first think I thought of was the Polish line from the "Every M2TW Faction in a nutshell" video, quote:

Our infantry may age like milk, but our cavalry will age like wine.

What a tasty looking cake, almost too good to eat.

Random question, what is your opinion on worker's unions?

Random question, what is your opinion on worker's unions?

The fact that for a fair while the employer side had them outlawed (and has been known to engage in outright organised-crime tactics against them after that) should speak volumes of their necessity and importance.

Complicated. Sometimes useful, leveling the power imbalance between employer and employee; sometimes corrupt, excessively anti-competitive, or power-abusive. Police and prison guard unions don't seem to be in the net public interest.

Ie. same as the "capital" side of the equation. Turnaround is fair play if you ask me, given "labour" tends to be the primary victim when the latter slips its leash.

Are we talking US context here? Because those would be basically irrelevant there (save for their members' collective professional interests natch, don't see why they shouldn't get to organise to promote those like everyone else) compared to the grossly dysfunctional mess that is the organisation of law enforcement in that country, and doubly so the utter counterproductive idiocy that is privatised prisons.

My answer varies from union to union, and there's also what rainbow8 said that's crucial to consider, as there's quite a bit of truth in that (well, I'm understating it a bit, especially for the police and prison guard part), but, by and( en?) large, I think workers' unions are a force for good. Most, under our current liberal/capitalist world, exist as the workers' counter-balance to the corporate and/or state interests, while some (that happen to be my favourite category) are mass movements with more radical views on labour rights, akin to their predecessors from the XIX century, the largest of them being the IWW. There are socialist/leftist factions that see workers' unions as the key to revolution, and as an anarchist who has a general distain for political parties, I can't say that I'm not one of those socialists.

One might invoke the concept of "labour aristocracy" here... More to the point, the legalisation of unions and various other reforms to address the various labour-capital conflicts and lower-class disaffection were how states with half a brain defused societal tensions that left unaddressed might have well led to revolutions of whatever form - as indeed eventually happened in several countries where such measures were taken "too little too late" or not at all (though stresses from the various wars of what some historians have termed the "age of catastrophe" were often also involved).
Case in point some of the first "welfare state" policies in Europe were pushed through by that radical rabble-rouser Otto von Bismarck, who IIRC was quite candid about them being a cost-effective way to "buy peace at home"...

But with public sector unions, they're opposing government, which kind of represents the people, rather than opposing capital.

Yes, US, and I disagree with their being irrelevant. The police unions are a big part of why it's hard to bring the police in check, AIUI the guard unions lobby for longer prison terms. Both kinds of unions spent lots of money to defeat California's 2008 Prop 5: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_California_Proposition_5

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Correctional_Peace_Officers_Association

"The CCPOA has supported campaigns for tougher criminal sentences, including large contributions to the 1994 campaign for Proposition 184, the 'three strikes' ballot initiative, which puts repeat offenders behind bars for lengthy terms. "

"CCPOA political activity routinely exceeds that of all other labor unions in California."

A quick search finds critical articles from both the left and right. A Reason article is critical of both private prisons and guard unions, but says the latter are bigger.

Mostly just wanted to note the pure, unbridled excellence that was this exchange.

Random question, what is your opinion on worker's unions?

Their effect and utility varies region-to-region (sometimes drastically). They're not beyond reproach or critique, but in general unions are good.

While American Libertarians fall on the right of the political spectrum, it does seem a little reductive to identify them as a critical voice from the right generally. Pretty complicated, though.
