I have to confess. For years I thought these characters were from a hentai because I kept seeing thumbnails of the elf girl on porn sites. But then I was browsing through Netflix and I was shocked that this was an actual SFW show (didn’t watch it though).

The other girl is holder her leg up. not much in the way of support, but she isn't just hovering on one leg.

In the games the ears are sort of real. The way the ears are depicted in the manga and games makes it seem like the moon rabbits essentially have the ears stapled to their heads. The ears also probably are what allow the moon rabbits to communicate with each other. I think almost everything known about them is conjecture save that they're attached rather than natural
