Is the sister juice thing some sort of weird pun on the word for soup? I used Google translate to get the Japanese word for soup and reversed it for one of the results and it gives both "juice" and "soup" as possible translations for 汁 (shiru)
Basically "jiru" can mean either "soup" or "juice", while the alternative Hana proposes is the English word "soup" (suupu). I just went with the official subs on this one. Although it does kinda muddle the explanation regarding the other kind of soups (ie. why tanukijiru doesn't sound like it was made from raccoons)
