Is this author so absorbed in yuri that she/he forgets what yaoi is?

I believe "Boys Love" is the more common term in Japan, since "BL" is often used as the short hand for it. Actually, in the Japanese version, it says "BL" in that bubble with "boys love" as furigana.

According to the sources that Wikipedia links to, Yaoi was originally used for doujinshi in Japan.

In the west, Yaoi is the umbrella term for M/M. It's similar to how in the west people use (or used) the term "shoujo-ai" for "Yuri" while "Yuri" was basically only used for F/F hentai, while in Japan that term is non existant. Different connotations in different locations.

I like this story, but I just wish that in manga, when someone starts groping another person and the other person says "stop", that they would STOP. In chapter 5 Chitose doesn't stop until Yae starts crying. It grosses me out.

Yeah, its both gross and way too normalized. Thankfully, Morishima Akiko agrees, and she handles the aftermath and conversations about consent really well. The whole fuck-up by Chitose reads as a solid critique of the hentai chorus of "stop" and "no" being treated as the industry standard of 'this is what aroused school girls sound like'.

Mari is really growing on me, she's actually so sweet..(the other Mari in my pfp agrees.)
Of course, everyone else is great too-I just didn't expect her arc at all. Really pleasant surprise.

Mari's "This is not the body" scene is really effective. It tells a lot about her character, and how being promiscuous with guys is her form of denial that she's a lesbian, contrasted against Ran's own form of denial.

Finally finished, and gotta say this is probably one of my favorite manga series now!
The art is beautiful- everyone is so pretty and looks very unique. The fact that they're still teenagers is also captured really well- no super unrealistic proportions.
Story wise, also wonderful. There was no intense drama which I really liked; it was mostly about these two working out their differences, communicating and working together to build a stable, loving relationship. Characters were very cute and believable.
The cast was also kept quite small. As someone who has a hard time with names, I really appreciated it. And this detracted nothing from the story- Akiko didn't have to constantly introduce someone new to keep the story going and worked really nicely with the few characters she had to create a tightly knit story.
All in all, very very high quality stuff. This was a lot of fun to read. This is going next to Jin's Love Flicker in my library of 'fun to reread over and over again.'

Yeah, I loved those scenes! Although they were kind of bizarre..quite cute nevertheless.

Wait, this never occurred to me before, but is the title a joke on the word "fushoshi"? It seems like "hanjuku" here means something like half-formed, or half-done, and that's reinforced by the half-cooked egg in the beginning and the (translated?) title of "soft-boiled" for the extras.

Meanwhile the otaku sister is a fujoshi herself, maybe open for a "rotten egg" pun while Chitose is a "soft-boiled egg". Which makes the title more clever than I realized, if true.
