I love how cartoony this gets in spots, like with the thumbs up or the flying feet.

Recently I have spoken with one guy who was trying to convince me that there is no yuri in Madoka.
What a douchebag)

That's ridiculous, of course there's yuri. Madoka is Sayaka's wife, isn't she?

I love this so much! Very sweet and representative of the characters' relationships. I just hope that last one will come true someday...

Homura flat-out stated that she loves Madoka! It even created a whole new kind of soul gem! How could that not be yuri?!

Yeah, Madoka wouldn't be Madoka if there was no yuri elements. Speaking of Madoka+Sayaka... Hmmm, I personally prefer the canonic paring Sayaka+Kyouko, I even have their figures together on my shelf. However, I don't mind trying new parings)

It is the clearest proof of yuri in Madoka, even Urobuchi told in the one of his interviews that Homura loves Madoka, but it is more platonic love than physical. So I was told that if it is not physical love, it is not yuri) Some people say really funny things)
As for me the concept of yuri (I usually consider it without distingushing shoujo-ai in different group because japanese people don`t use this term) combines every form of girls' love. Personally I distinguish 4 levels of it:
1. Very close friendship which in particular circumstances could be considered as transient stage between friendship and love.
2. Platonic love without sexual desire.
3. Physical form of love with sexual desire.
4. Highest form of love, which combining true pure feelings and sexual desire.
Well, I guess Madoka and Homura are on the 2nd level now, but they clearly can go up)

I would agree with that interpretation, at least during the first 12 episodes. It definitely seems like there's some love there but it never really manifests itself physically; not surprising considering how young and 'innocent' they are.

In Rebellion I'm not so sure though... Homura in particular takes on a much more "adult" form, like Madoka did at the end of the series, and her feelings appear to transcend that second level. The official art for rebellion is just oozing with sexual tension -- in fact, even near and after the end of the first 12 episodes, there was already some vaguely suggestive artwork featuring the two.

Some examples (the last 3 are Rebellion-specific) :

Clearly not a fan of the series, then. A fan appreciates what they are a fan of. And to appreciate something means to recognize it's full worth. The series itself doesn't treat the characters like interchangeable shipping fodder, so that's not part of their full worth. Thus you do not appreciate the characters, thus you are not a fan.

Welp, you heard them Unagi-san. Time to pack your bags and move on to the next fandom 'cause you clearly did not meet the universally accepted rule of being a fan of something.

Edit: Still hoping that this is sarcasm though, I can't wrap my head around this kind of rigid mindset.

The definitions of words were just spelled out for you.

Why do you think you're a fan of something just because you say you are? it's not "rigid thinking". It's factual thinking. You don't like the series for it is, you like what you get out of it. Which are two totally different things.

Um, before we move on to the definition of appreciate, I'll try to emulate you and look it up too:

https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/fan

"A person who has a strong interest in or admiration for a particular person or thing."

Hm, that's odd, can't find the word "appreciate" in there.

I do get the distinct feeling that I can't convince you otherwise anyway so I'll just leave it at that.

For the record, I'm the person who scanned this doujin. It was part of a larger anthology. And someone took my scans, and uploaded them to imgur so they could post them on reddit, and imgur massively downscaling the page.

Here's the original. If you want to upload a version without jpg artifacts all over it.

Are you an alt of that one guy who occasionally pops up to spam the site with his inane rambling about how non-canon pairings are the worst thing ever? Cause if you're not then you're doing a great job of emulating him. Liking non-canon pairings doesn't make you less of a fan of a series than someone who prefers canon pairings. It just means you enjoy it a different way than they do.
