Completely unsatisfying ending. What a shame, I thought the art was great.

It's bad in terms of, nothing was explained and everything happened all too fast w/o a background info. As to why was Youko's egg chosen, what was the purpose of taking her egg and stuff, and why was the way to retrieve the egg was to have intercourse. I think the logic of the story was flawed. But hey, it's sci-fi. And although I think it's bad, I still like it anyway (very oxymoronic).

But, well to each his own.

She wants to become more like Megu or this whole experience has made her experience a lesbian epiphany and now she's looking for a girlfriend?

That was like "meh"...

It wasn't the sex which Youko was talking about (doing out of loneliness). It was feeding her, taking her out, and basically keeping her around in the present world as a companion. After realizing how helpless Megu was over here (and that she was using her to deal with her own loneliness), Youko decided to give Megu what she needed so she could return to her own world. Essentially, Youko kept Megu around out of loneliness, but had sex with her out of altruism/love.

ah, now you make me feel like an idiot for being so narrow minded about interpreting that XD definitely makes more sense from your perspective. thanks Sol Falling ^_^

The art is good and everything but it seems the story is a bit out of place... Unless of course there's a sequel about it?

Well, she can't go preggy until next month in any case.

First I got to say it's pretty rare to read a sci fi Yuri and this one has its meaning to me. Better than some other not.
Secondly that ending is likes choking my heart. IT SO SAD AND SO CRUEL to me.
Even the last lines youko said I still feel it so fake and painful.

Thinking back I actually love the concept of this...we just need more insight into what Megu was doing.

Maybe if the author pulled a Natsuneko and put the best possible ending that wraps everything up perfectly and makes everyone super happy and satisfied on the very last page we'd think about this differently. It all comes back to the same question...why does Megu need YOUKO'S eggs of all people.

This needs another part to it and it sucks that we didn't get an explanation to why she needed her eggs.

WOW okay I hadn't read this, that was pretty wild (credits to that thread asking about this one shot)
Sad it was such a short lived relationship, with merely a hint that they could meet again in the future, if mc kept moving forward I suppose.
Or totally not, seeing that the future girl knew absolutely nothing and that everything was foreign to her.

I think it means she wants to start becoming more optimistic in life.

I feel this story was very "Japanese". There seems to be some context missing, unless you are aware of Japanese society. Lots of questions, little answers. Kind of reminds me of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikō, in which it causes lots of questions but no answers and the characters continue to move on with their lives, "to move forward". Youko is the type of character who has to move forward, even if little has changed on her situation. Meanwhile the future that Megu comes from seem to be a problematic one. She never tell us all the details, instead Youko pays attention to what Megu says, does or act and extrapolates what the future must be like: not knowing that it gets cold at night (?), she is amazed with hot water, never eaten anpan, never seeing city lights of street lights before, finding excitement with school, etc. (maybe Megu is just a simple person to please, but I suspect there is more to it). I suspect the reason she traveled to the past for her cells, is that the people from the future cannot either procreate or their cells are too damaged and they need new ones (which reminds me of Japan's attempt to deal with their population decline, and the fear that if nothing changes by 2050, they may be done as a Nation).

It was an ok story. I feel the ending was a bit sad.

It makes me wonder why she wanted her exact eggs, I mean it could've been anyone's eggs right? Maybe she was trying to clone her or something? That would still leave the present Youko lonely though
