I dunno if I'd be irked at people who dropped it after episode 3, considering that's 1/4 of the way through the story. If the story isn't grabbing people by then I'd question the writing at least a bit.

Nez, have you ever seen Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai? I wouldn't fault someone for giving up on it through the first 30 minutes. Or possibly even the first hour. Yet it's an absolute masterpiece, and one I come back to often (well, as often as one can for a 3 hour movie...).
I think often times, a show being dropped after a few episodes says more about the person watching the show - and their individual taste - than it does the show itself.

Oh... well, I did watch 11 episodes.. it wasn't entertaining enough and then BANG! BYE BYE LULU so that was my limit, because Kureha wasn't interesting... She keeps repeating and repeating the same things "I will not forgive the pandas... I will not give up on love" and I was like "yeah.... I got it the first 10 times thank you" and I guess that, the symbolism was interesting yeah... But I wasn't looking for that, Is so hard to get yuri and these people give it but through a kaleidoscope so nope! no more for me... I have the manga now :)

In my opinion, it's because yuri or lesbianism was known for the subtlety. It's like a frail flower in the middle of storm. Same-sex relationship was not largely accepted, but two girls holding hands in public is socially acceptable. It was a little act of confirming their love in public without being overtly obvious. But, yes, I don't actually know when or why that symbolism turns lewd. Maybe it's because the little known fact that holding hands is the third base of lesbian sexual act, and as we all know that holding hands usually leads to Luminous, which is the most depraved lesbian sex act known to humanity.

Actually, it's got nothing to do with 4chan or same-sex relationships not being accepted or anything like that. It's an in-joke following this one-shot, which suggests that a second-hand kiss is even more high level than oral sex. So following that, holding hands must be even more lewd, in fact the lewdest thing one can do.

Seriously though, with the 17 shippable characters mentioned above there are so many options (and only for OTP, let alone 3 or more) that it seems quite ridiculous to me that part of the fandom would focus so much in the shipping wars. Statistically, it's more or less impossible that the whole fandom would agree on one single ship for any character, so why not just support your own choice and let everyone else be? Go and tell everyone why yours is the best IN YOUR OPINION, but keep it in that ship's works. Entering any work with another ship just to say you hate/don't like/whatever else... sorry, that's just not nice.

(For reasons, I won't go into unhealthy ships. That's something I just don't want to deal with rn)

^-- Shipping is in general an exercise of willful ignorance IMO, and like you said ship and let ship. It is frustrating however when people go off on a ship that has by comparison a very small amount of doujins/material compared to the ship they prefer.

I love pairings that has Maki in it, but the least is NicoMaki...too many of those, I want to see more of Maki's harem. Point is, this pairing is great. Something different that the most popular pairings.

A lot of authors make NicoMaki work, no problem. But I dunno, to me they seem like a "high school" romance that wouldn't last into the long term. Which is sweet and fun in its own way, but something about this pair seems like it'd work as they moved on to being adults.
