Yahoo! A Rikitake oneshot!!!!!!!!!

Rikitake has only published a few original works, but isn't it so amazing how they keep writing characters who have buried each other deep inside their hearts and shaped their lives around each other, even-- in this case-- before they've even formally met? As an author it feels like Rikitake is pretty focused on the topic of artistic struggle, but they always fill their stories with so much love.

I'm probably biased, but really I'm just so happy when more people get to enjoy their stories.

"Holy shit! Two cakes!" type manga

Also I find it interesting that while "Have a Great Trip After the Credits Roll" is relatively grounded in presentation (from what I recall), some of the scenes in here, particularly when they play piano, are positively shounen-esque.

I know this is more in line with “child prodigy” who as years go realizes they are Normal, not my case, but I really like the feeling of being mediocre expressed, being crushed by another and such. Very relatable feeling. I liked it a lot! I understand that it goes on the more wholesome side, but I would really like a story like this where the plot twist “you always inspired me” or “we now inspire each other” like in this story, did not exist, where the rivalry wasn’t hate or looking down on each other, but not about camaraderie either.

Sorry, i don’t really know what you mean exactly. But Have a Great Trip After the Credits Roll is shonen! The series where Rikitake is only the artist is also shonen, so that is why! This one-shot is probably from a seinen/shonen magazine too.

I'm sometimes scared to read psychological manga in worry that they'll be torture porn, but this was cute.

I wouldn't say it's a really accurate summary but you're very clever and funny so I approve of it

I think you'd enjoy Chihaya Re:Start!, then. (look it up on Mangadex or elsewhere)

Yes, and I agree to you wholeheartedly.

I will check it out thank you! The tags on baka updates says reunited friends though ;;
I can give a rec too (and also use it to compare what I am looking for more or less) Shonen Note! Really good, but not fully scanlated sadly

this was so sweet! I think the sentiment expressed is really important. you will rarely be THE best at what you do, but that does not diminish your value at all. at least one person will admire you! hell, even if noone can recognize your talent, as long as you have fun, that's enough reason to keep doing what you love ( ´◔‸◔`)♡♡♡
