A surprisingly satisfying end... But. Thinking about it some more. The fact that Takahashi apparently can survive as a worm no problem, and only ate and wore people to find human things (music, and in itou, friendship), is... Well. Then why did Itou insist on being eaten. She's worried about Takahashi and it really does seem that for some reason even the worm is about to die...? Don't know why. But then why does Itou continue to want being eaten. Because she thinks Takahashi is more human and kinder than she is. But smash cut to now - she's learned lots about normality and humanity so. She can do the same. No reason to give away her body.

In a way Mr. N's arc is much more thematically logically resolved. Really loved that move.

But I really loved the way Takahashi almost killed Itou. That was very emotional. Kinda beautiful.

Itou's grandma hanging out with some monster who creates a moral free theme park (??? What.) was also... Strange. And the implications could have done with some more exploration.

I guess the manga definitively came down on the side of human morality (dont disturb other people's normality - which I feel like is a VERY Japanese kind of way to put it). It's important to be social and lie and learn to do these things because it is important to be kind to people and that is human. I guess Itou's grandma didn't agree cos she never taught theme park man that.

Theme park man seems to have set up the whole soap thing though... Which Itou was taught about by her grandmother, which is a kinda nice coming together of things. Not sure theme park man was sincere in his speech I guess.

This manga was surprisingly effectively dramatic, quite funny at times, and that's all because the yuri really carried it. I really quite enjoyed it

There are a few things I wish could have been elaborated upon. Ooki saw her friend being devoured and discovered the existence of monsters, how did that affect her?

Itou mentions offhandedly that the theme park manager tampered with Ooki's memories, so we can assume that included making her forget about seeing any monsters.

I'm so sad to see this go, but I'm glad it ended so beautifully, too.

E-eh what:..can someone explain the ending?? I feel like it was a cliff hanger though I could just be reading it wrong. Like what the heck?? Is the giant worm still alive, it Itou find her??? I’m so confused???

Takahashi survived, but has become too normal to stomach eating anyone for a skinsuit, so she instead went home to the Gobi desert to live in solitude. Itou* spent 2-4 years searching for her in between finishing high school and starting college, eventually getting together the resources for an expedition to the Gobi to find Takahashi. Which she did. We're left to imagine how that meeting plays out, so in that respect you could call it a cliffhanger. But I doubt Takahashi's eating Itou, so this is probably ending with Itou joining Takahashi in the hermit life. Or maybe they raid a morgue together, who can say~

*: They started calling her Yuki, so I assume her full name is Itou Yuki. But I'm so used to calling her Itou that I didn't even realize I didn't know her given name...

Ah! Okay wait that makes sense now! Thanks for explaining it, I was just confused by the ending. Like I thought Itou or Yuki was just hallucinating because she was in the FREAKING desert for so long and that she didn’t actually hear the real taka, worm form or not. Cause previous when we got the sene of her suit getting the brick to the head, I also couldn’t tell if Taka escaped and it was actually her voice talking to Itou during that sene or if again, it was just Itou’s imagination to what Taka would have said.

Anyways though, I wasn’t expecting it to be a type of “Believe whatever you want the ending to be!!” I’m not really used to that. Still an awesome read! ANYWAYS THANKS AGAIN FOR CLEARING THAT UP AHHHH

Welp, the series finally ended. It might have not been the absolute best ending but it was pretty decent/good ending (Open ending and left opening type ending with implied good ending...Though the pessimists or cynics can think or assume it all a illusion or some silly non-sense from the MC if they want or MC getting eaten) Kind of want MC and her worm waifu to be shown hanging out and have fun for at least a few pages but this ending was good enough :)

MC (Itou Yuki) has now become normal...Or rather well almost normal (She managed to grow and learn how to practiced having normal manner/behaviors enough like lying to consider the other person's feelings and stuff....Yeah you can claim lying is bad but lies are needed to avoid conflict, arguments and to avoid hurting other people feelings. Lies are not needed in a idealized and perfect world but eh, world is not perfect lol~)

Mister N (The original human one, not the monster wearing or pretending to be him) was 1000000% absolute deserve to be killed by worm waifu....In fact should have been tortured and skill slowly but eh Worm waifu isn't a sadistic monster who kills for fun.

So yeah, mostly happy ending (Very much implied and thankfully author picked an ending to be open-ending instead of MC getting 'eaten')...Though to be honest I would not be that sad if MC gotten eaten by her worm-waifu as the ending...As long as Worm-waifu shows a deep expression of pain, regret, grief and sadness (Though able to overcome it and move but with memories of MC).

Anyways thanks to the translator and artist/author for great manga/series, been fun reading it.
