I could see that turning into an interesting concept. MC gets genderbent then promptly realizes "Wait, no one else knows this happened to me and I don't look that different. I can probably just keep passing as my original gender." And then it pretends to go on to a completely unrelated slice of life story, but you have all sorts of opportunities for the gender-bending to sneak back in, in interesting ways.
This one exists! it's called "We Are Former Girls", it's a bit rough at the start with an abundance of ecchi bullshit, but imo it's really pretty solid through and through
Just found this and now have to wait quite a bit for more. orz.
Man what's with all the gender swap fake yuri series ongoing right now
I wouldn't call it fake, but right now it's kind of a Schrödinger's yuri since we don't know what Yuuri's preferred gender is going to be.
And is it really that many? There's this, Boyfriend Sometimes Girlfriend and that isekai trash filled with male gaze.
There is also the one I don't remember the name where the sister is a scientist and she turned her brother into a girl and I believe the brother (Who is now a girl) is also in love with his sister in that as well so incest on top of that. There's another as well but I honestly can't remember off the top off my head since I don't usually read them.
I call it fake in a sense that the only reason he's even thinking about staying a girl is literally just so he can be with this girl. Plus I remember almost this exact same kind of story a few years back where the girl ended up getting over her fear of males or maybe it was just the MC? So in the last chapter he changed back into a male and it just turned into a normal hetro relationship after being yuri for the entire series (Well if loosely this kind of story is yuri I guess).
Well, to be honest, I've had experiences with fake yuri gender-bender premises like those, especially isekai ones. The one I remember best is Ayakashi Triangle, which sparked a lot of debate, particularly about whether it could really be considered yuri or not. It also received criticism from some Japanese yuri fans, who accused the manga of being just ecchi aimed at men, although it is known that the manga ultimately had a yuri ending.
As for the manga you're worried about, I'd honestly like to tell everyone about it now that I've read it, but I can't spoil anything. What I can say is that the tags added by the translator are correct and completely accurate, and he/she knows that very well.

Well, to be honest, I have had those experiences with fake yuri stories, such as isekai and similar series. But in the end, you should wait and see how this story develops, because it's definitely worth giving it a look. ^_^

This is the “my story is getting axed so I gotta speed this along” chapter isn’t it? LOL
I honestly didn't understand what you were trying to refer to...
thanks a lot for the translation, i'm so glad to see this back!! i cannot wait for the next chapter wow. and in the meantime i'll be praying it isn't just surprise het, because i expected the "yuuri gets used to being a girl" being a lot longer, and now i'm a little nervous ;-;
It's not het don't worry. I would've updated the tags
Indeed :3
My favorite drama manga has finally started again. Let's see what happens next, hehe.
average trans dating experience :(

Well, don't worry. We just have to wait and see what happens in the next chapter, hehe.
This is getting silly,
I'm quite enjoying this manga; despite the inherent silliness of the premise, the characters' emotions feel very real. II appreciate that Kyouko both found out the truth about Yuuri relatively quickly and that it's taking time for her to come to terms with it; I'm looking forward to seeing how their relationship develops from here!
I wonder if it's going to end up with something like Kyouko falling in love with Yuuri, because he's a boy in a girl's body. It's a perfect solution for a hetosexual girl with a severe case of androphobia.
I think that might piss a lot of people off, but not me. I'm actually intrigued by the idea. I would like to see more manga play around with biological sex and gender identity. Characters like Yamato from One Piece fascinate me.

Relax, there are still more chapters left to see, so let's wait and see what happens. It'll be interesting, honestly. :3

Are you really sure about that?
Alright then, let's make a bet. If it turns out to be yuri, I win. If it turns out to be heterosexual, you win.
It'll be interesting to see which one of us ends up being right, hehe.

I'm not sure you understand what I'm saying. It's simple Kyouko falls in love with yuuri, because he is a guy in a non-guy package. Yuuri remains in a girl's body, to not frighten Kyouko. Yuuri and Kyouko will live happy ever after. It is totally a yuri ending. Well from a certain point of veiw.

Transphobic Kyouko.
Transphobic Kyouko.
Phobic in the true sense of the word

Nah, there are a lot of things you're wrong about, but I'm not going to argue with you over them. I could easily prove my point, but it's more fun to turn it into a bet instead, hehe.

The fuck is wrong with ecchi?

In the bare facts, isn't that also the same premise for Kashimashi: Girl meets Girl? Hazumu loves a girl who has problems with men, and when she's turned into a girl, she accepts it so she can be with the girl she loves.
Kashimashi is my favorite Yuri ever, but it is basically doing the thing you are saying is a problem.

Hopefully this one doesn't end like in Kashimashi because I would've preferred a poly ending in that one or at least be what I think this one is gonna end like.
Oh no, Kyouko is a terf.

Okay how wrong can I be? I can only see three likely endings
Yuuri uses his girl form to cure Kyouko of her androphobia then turns back into a boy. Kyouko falls in love with him. Hetero happy ending.
Yuuri starts to identify as a girl. Kyouko falls in love with her. A happy yuri ending.
Yuuri stays a girl but never stops identifying as a boy. Kyouko falls in love with them. Happy yuri ending, from a certain point of view.
Now I know there can be tons of other endings. Like Yuuri starts identifying as a girl. Becomes best gal pals with Kyouko, and then falls in love when she discovers boys for herself. But it's almost certainly one of the three. You want to bet then my money is spread evenly between possibility 2 and 3, based on the things I read in the comments.

As much as I and I assume many other readers would love to see it, a scene where Yuuri just turns to the camera and says "I am transgender and want to be a girl." is never going to happen in a somewhat light-hearted manga like this, but the same goes for option 3. Much like with many of the other gender bender manga out there, the mc's gender is probably just going to be left vague and up to the reader's interpretation. Automatically flocking to the interpretation that it's "het in a non-het package" because of it is insulting to the original work and other interpretations. This might just be my opinion as a trans woman, but no living cis guy would ever choose to remain in a wrong-gendered body just for a crush. If Yuuri does ultimately choose to stay as a girl, a queer reading is unavoidable.
