Legitimate question, what's the difference between yuri fanservice and queer baiting? Like, obviously I don't think a majority of people expected anything to actually come from TakaMori, or most HoloLive ships. But is it not the same thing of exploiting people who are expecting some form of queer representation into watching your content?

The difference is the target audience and how realistic it is presented, I guess? Yuri fanservice is basically Girl-on-Girl is Hot for heterosexual males because that’s where the big money is. If you have a good gaydar, it’s usually not hard to tell that most of it is just for show and I don’t consider that queer-baiting. I’d only agree on the queer-baiting if Crossick or NoeFlare would turn out to be fake.

I actually watched the Killing Slimes anime as I read the LNs for it and, with two exceptions, I think the LN is much more enjoyable. The bit with the Minstrel is better in the anime just because of the music. Then The Witch's Cafe ends up more enjoyable in the anime because they waited until the end to do that part so more characters end up involved in it which was just nice. In the LN not all of the main cast had been introduced yet at that point.

Outside of those two, yeah I highly prefer the LNs. You get a lot more detail in various moments, and a lot of moments happen a little differently. Also a few chapters got skipped outright by the anime. One of my favorite moments with Laika happens differently in the anime and it actually kinda bummed me out a bit cause in the LN it's a funny but sweet moment while in the anime it's enirely played for laughs.

Far as translation goes, the official English is up to 9 or 10, and there's a Beelzebub spinoff that has 1 volume.

I know I can enjoy cute interactions from these entertainers, and the fluffy fanart, while not getting too sucked into it and while also not harassing or bothering them about it in chat, on social media, and so fourth. Nothing wrong with shipping if you can stay reasonable about it in my opinion, and it's part of the fun of fan content. Some Vtubers even request and enjoy ship art.

Anyways, here we go again with another week of Takamori debates. Surely this can only go well. Edit: Also Kiara even said on Twitter to an artist that she enjoys seeing all ship art. So clearly artists are still okay to draw the ship and any ship with her, plus Takamori art still often shows up on my timeline because of her and even Calli still liking and retweeting it. People really don't need to keep bringing up that Takamori is "dead", that's also one of the main things she finds annoying from my understanding.
