Bandai exec said that, the director of anime said they're married later. The people directly working on the series are very much are for the relationship, just unfortunately there's higher ups are being a pain (as usual I suppose). So who knows, the series creators might be counting on there being enough LGBTQ acceptance in coming years that they can do a movie, or OVA. Always hope for the best I say.
