Well I had just reread the first 9 chapters to do some further analysis/note-taking on some of the themes and other stuff after Hina dropped that recontextualization bomb at the end of the last chapter (however many times you think she's shown a bit of genuine emotion before joking around to hide it or literally running from following up on it she's probably done it more), so this wouldn't have tricked me even if I hadn't already seen the actual title page for chapter 10

Still, the edits were really well executed (arguably too well seeing how I've seen multiple people share pages from this chapter without realizing it was a bit lol), and it gave me an opportunity to notice some of the subtler design differences between series. Like I don't think I would have actually cognizantly noticed details like how they swapped who has a perfectly neat collar (Yuzu and Ayumu) and who seems content to let their collar stay messy and uneven (Minami and Hina). Not the most interesting or important detail of course, but it's kind of neat

Als Ayumu might have the most rizz in all of yuri manga the coming back and telling Hayami that she doesn't consider her a friend. She wants that girlfriend tag quite badly. Made her blush as well!

Also I'm quite surprised Asuka is being as nice to her as she is, Seeing as she also has a thing for Hayami and knows the rizz queen is starting to affect her as well.

I'm still also scared about how this entire story is gonna play out because of who the author is. But right now I really love this a lot lol.

Definitely one of the more abrupt mid-chapter cliffhangers so far, but what can you do. There were definitely some cute moments though. I like the random student who just so happened to knock Hina right into Ayumu; their yuri comedy of errors moments are always fun lol

Also cool to see another mention of Hina's brother. Since he sent her a message in chapter 8 about visiting, I'm guessing he'll show up in the near future. I wonder what he'll think about her situation with Ayumu. Will he be supportive like Ayumu's mom, or against it? It'd be interesting if he maybe had better been able to see past Hina's mask than Asuka or Ayumu (at least before she let it drop a little last chapter) and thus be able to see how much getting to know Ayumu has already changed Hina

Assuming you're just talking about their previous manga, I really can't see Confessions having the same issues as Best Friend. Ayumu and Hina are already better at actually communicating than Minami and Yuzu were for 99% of that manga, and I'd even say they've already made more progress towards getting together than those two had by Chapter 10. It'd be even harder to force the same kind of last second drama when one of them is already very open about her feelings and the other is showing signs of returning them even sooner. It's not impossible I guess, but I'm not particularly worried

I think the thing that'll determine whether this is going the way of Best Friend is whether or not we'll get a zillion chapters of Hayami blushing at Ayumu's intentional/accidental rizz without doing anything (worse) or whether they'll actually talk about it (better). I've really liked this series so far, though, so I'm hoping they'll keep up the steady progress

Why does some random girl have a photo of Hina’s brother? I admit I thought this was an all girls school, but I went back to the first chapter and I can see that it’s not. So, was he really popular when he went there or something? Also, I still have faith in the author. Her previous story got extremely frustrating for sure, but I still enjoyed reading it. The characters in An Aside Told to You started dating real quick, so maybe this will be a lot faster this time around… yeah, that one had its own share of frustrating miscommunication too, but I still have faith.

Ah I see, that makes sense now. I thought it was that girl next to her that was talking, but I see now that Hina was saying she found at least one photo. Thanks, that definitely confused me a bit.

So this chapter both begins and ends with Ayumu laying down even more Rizz on Hayami. Honestly this girl could get anyone to fall for her with the game she's got my god.

Also Asuka just admit you also want to be friends with Ayumu even if she's a love rival (Who you honestly have ZERO chance against). I do feel bad for her she's gonna confess at the festival and get utterly turned down. Hopefully she can move past it can stay friends with both of them. Maybe someone else can come in and we can get a second couple with her and someone new.

Also to put Hayami on the same level of aliens that's basically a marriage proposal to Ayumi.

This chapter was so good! Obviously more accidental flirting was great (I love how, despite being the one pursuing Hina, Ayumu definitely feels like the more oblivious of the two), but I especially loved the planetarium stuff. Hina seemingly losing track of Ayumu's explanation but smiling because of how passionate and happy Ayumu was about it is just so adorable. Plus I'm glad they circled back around to Hina wanting to know more about Ayumu's love for space after she accidentally managed to dodge the question in chapter 9.

I'm both excited for and kinda dreading the next chapter because I feel like the love triangle subplot is going to be coming to a head. Plus Hina's reaction to Ayumu's question is, uh, interesting for sure. Especially after that glimpse of her defeatism (and thus the fact that she has a lot more going on in her head than she likes to show) from chapter 9. It being interspersed with Asuka's reaction to seeing the hug makes me wonder if maybe Hina knows more about Asuka's feelings for her than she let on? I realized from rereading how much Hina seems to avoid dealing with complicated feelings (usually laughing them off or literally running away from the conversation), so I could see her just pretending not to notice for Asuka's sake. And if so, maybe she's conflicted over her growing feelings for Ayumu because she doesn't want to hurt Asuka either? Though I'll admit I might not be on the right track here. No matter how things turn out, I also hope Asuka can stay friends with them.
