Dynasty actually shrank the pages. Is the text easier to read if you click the resize button and read it at the original size? I'll request a fix for page 52 after I get the other chapters converted as well.

Yeah it is, you might want to reference the other works in the novel tag to account for the resizing.

There were a few other similar leftovers I noticed in the chapters after, but I forgot to write them down, sorry... I'm guessing you're working on it completely on your own so it's easy to miss those and might be a good idea to give them one more read as you convert. It's mostly leftovers from changing the sentences and one where you used "his" to refer to one of the girls.
It's not the sort of work I'd usually read but at least until up the point I stopped, I do quite enjoy how Haruki's own obsession with Asuka is visible from the start and how once she comes into play, whatever interest Haruki has in others shifts from being about what they have to provide her to making it completely about Asuka, and sometimes without her being aware of it lol. No thoughts on the work itself as a whole yet, though yeah, the initial focus on Haruki's crush on Okubo might put some off, but once that was over and Asuka started showing some... hints of maybe being a stalker, it started getting nicer so I'll continue later.

I do have a PDF ready and the pages on Dynasty are converted from that, so I can share that when I'm done after I adjust some details.

I'm aware that there are aggregators and I don't really mind them that much. They probably don't have any updates I make after posting, but I don't think that hurts the readability too much.

I'll try to get the rest on wattpad over here in the weekend. I modified all the text in the first part so it's a bit bigger than the initial version I uploaded.

The author tagged this as yandere. This is probably because one of the characters can get rather obsessive, though not outright violent so it's probably not to the extent that you'd imagine whenever you normally see this tag. Both characters have their own mental baggage to deal with.

More updates! I read everything that was available on Wattpad. Didn't mind the format, but after a while, it told me to log in to read more. I think it's nicer to read here.

Agreed that this isn't really yandere.

As far as the chapter goes, I much prefer Miya's straightforwardness as opposed to Mizuno's teasing and head games. Aren't you all too old for that? That said, Miya went way too far here. It's a bit of a bummer.

I think that this story was alright at first, but as it progressed and started having more social commentary (Idk what else to call that) on it, it started to sound like the author didn't really put enough time into their research so it feels like "baby's first time talking about oppression", and while that would have worked well if it was limited to Haruki herself, it kind of extends over other characters which means it's probably coming from the author themself. And well, that scene when Kiyo is first introduced was quite transmisogynistic with the text immediately jumping to "You see that woman? That's a guy actually." and despite not being transfem myself, made me uncomfortable because that wasn't necessary at all, and her being the only character to make vulgar jokes like that puts her together with the other characters who harass the protagonists sexually in my opinion, and that's not very nice. That chapter kind of soured the whole thing for me and there's this undertone that separates her from femininity even if the character is bigender.

I'm not saying it's absolutely Bad, but it could have been a lot better if the author had spent more time researching about the people they wanted to write about, because there would have been a much better contrast between Haruki's own prejudices and Reality. At least I think it did well on how it portrayed the homophobic (sexual) harassment and how many don't understand the risks of being outed, though I won't spoil this because I don't remember if it's been translated yet.

I did enjoy Haruki's initial denial of being into Asuka and the insistence on wanting to top at first only to give in and get really shy about it lol. She just can't go against years of That. I'm not particularly interested in office settings so I read this knowing I was probably not going to get into it, and it really wasn't my thing, but it was entertaining enough to read the entire translation and then a few of the raw chapters.

That's it for the batch uploads of this story. I'll upload the rest as I translate them, but Dynasty is caught up on what's up on Wattpad for the most part now.

Terauchi already sucked for his "I'm going to assault you...wait, jk" schtick, but now he's unredeemable for me after outing the MC. Mizuno is too pushy, and it makes me not want to root for her. The manager dude is a cartoon villain.

These aspects have kind of turned me off from this series, but thank you for uploading it all the same! It's been engaging.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would, especially given the amatuerish conflicts at times (looking at you, Youkouchi), and even made a Wattpad account because I couldn't wait (and honestly I hate reading novels on Dynasty because it will always be black text on white background). Despite some frustrations with both the format (it IS a light novel-style webnovel) and the themes (it's kind of all over the place at times, isn't it?), it is varied enough to keep me guessing as to where it's going next, and the characters are decently interesting. I could nitpick them for days, but I really did find myself wishing them a happy(ier) ending after their pasts were revealed and all(?) their baggage is on display for the reader.

One thing that I missed the first time I read it that I only caught now is that Haruki mentioned to Mizuno she gave her hand towel/handkerchief to an abandoned cat back in chapter 4, so it's likely that Mizuno went out of her way to find the cat in order to get something that belonged to Haruki.

Also despite Mizuno's more questionable tendencies, I personally think she comes off a lot better than Terauchi who just constantly puts Haruki in awkward situations where she can't refuse due to her obsession with how everyone views her. The best thing she ever said about her time with Terauchi was "the food was not bad", but Mizuno and Miya both got better reviews when it came to food anyways.

She was camab. She used to present as a guy, and the work itself even goes out of its way to show how different she is now, and again, pointing out that somebody who seems to be a woman is actually a guy is a common transmisogynistic trope. Haruki was clearly uncomfortable with that joke, and Kiyo seems also to be the only character to joke like that, so it makes her pop in a strange way.

I don't know if I quite get what "jump the gun" means, but I made that post after thinking about it for a few days, and I still believe the author needed to do more research because it tries to touch on a lot of things without a clear focus, and its weakest moments were exactly when it strayed too much from the main pair and tried to make some form of social commentary without a solid base. This isn't me saying that nobody can ever write a transfem genderfluid character, but that in media as a whole there's a tendency to immediately point to transfem characters' cagab as if to disconnect them from womanhood and turn them into a third thing, and this one isn't an exception to it.

(And in my opinion, even if she was transmasc genderfluid, it's still unpleasant for the only trans character to be portrayed as making Haruki uncomfortable like that, especially with how transfems usually are written as.)
Again, I read this knowing it wasn't my thing, and it really wasn't! But there were some cute moments between the main couple, which would have been even better if Asuka was Crazier, and I felt it was worth it to bring up Kiyo in case there are people who are uncomfortable with that.

I'm going to post another comment when I finish reading (I'm at about 60 now), but I understood Miya to be saying that Kiyo is a male cross dresser. Since cross dressers are in fact men and not trans women, I did not find this transmisogynistic. That he started dressing as a woman at least some of the time only after opening bar, when Kiyo said he could be himself, reinforces that he is AMAB.

We later get the conversation where Kiyo says that he doesn't feel man or woman completely describe him. Sometimes he feels more like one or the other, rather than having a single gender. After this, he refers to himself as a man when Haruki asks for lesbian sex advice. What I get from this is that "man with a feminine side" is close enough, or as close as he can get with the typical person, even if it's not correct. He doesn't take hormones or anything, nor does he identify as trans.

The point with Miya that I saw was that, even within LGBT, people want to categorize to establish community with people "like them," which inevitably leaves some people out. I doubt Miya was trying to talk about Kiyo in a negative way, as the bar Kiyo created is an important place for her. Kiyo is a dude to her because she can't process someone existing outside of being a man or a woman, not because she would consider a trans woman to be a dude.

I also didn't see Kiyo as sexually aggressive. It's not like Kiyo is hitting on Haruki as much as he's very open about sexual topics. When he makes the elephant joke and Haruki doesn't find it funny, he seems uncomfortable and backs off quickly, the opposite of aggression. Haruki seems to admire his openness and even comes to him for advice. There can be certain real world stereotypes about who is hypersexual, but within the story this openness a positive trait. This style of joking is often used a way for LGBT people to unlearn self hate and sexual repression.

What's interesting is that, just in this short thread, we have three different interpretations of Kiyo. This may be part of what the author is going for - to show us how our conceptions of how people can be categorized or what is appropriate don't fully capture the human experience.

well no "male cross dresser" was never part of the discussion and an incredibly dense and transphobic way of simplifying a character that specifically said they are genderfluid, which is a trans identity. No one said in the text "kiyo is a man that dresses like a woman" or "likes to wear women's clothes". The text just factually states that Kiyo presents differently than what can be physically observed, regardless of whtether thats masculine or feminine.

the larger point of the bar sections was that there are people that dont nearly fall under LGBT labels who have personal experiences that are "more complex" or not entirely captured by the acronym. genderfluid nonbinary people are not the first thought when someone uses the term trans.
