Yay! Bought Yakuza 4 on an impulse and it's on my way now!

Except for the first Yakuza for ps2, all other have japanese voice right? is it like GTA or it have any significant difference?

I think only the first had english voice acting
Can't really say much about the series, it'll be my first one and all of my Yakuza knowledge comes from this video
But it doesn't seem to be like GTA at all, you're confined to a district of the city and plays more like a free roam RPG with random encounters and all, but there seems to be a shitload of stuff to do in the city, i have my eyes set on that Texas Hold'em minigame, you see i just love to gamble, i'm a sucker for a cheap thrill and can't seem to stay away from it

Sorry for the late response, but yeah it is. I've only played a bit of the second one, and the yuri is practically text. You can play as a guy, but the dialogue does actually vary. There are also some really cute scenes like this.

@Kyonne: their latin america support sucks...hows the Brasil eshop? over here is nonexistent, completely empty not even demos...I have to lie and say I live in w-haaa no no I totally live in California dog! but seriously it sucks.

Yes it is, I had a lok at his site YandereDev and it says in the FAQ:

What is the main character’s name? What is the name of the love interest?

For now, the protagonist is named Yandere-chan, and the object of her affection is named “Senpai-kun” or “Senpai-chan” depending on their gender. These names may change in the final version of the game.

Is there character customization? Do I have a selection of boys to stalk? Can I stalk a female character? Can I play as a male character?

I would like to allow the player to decide Senpai’s gender at the beginning of the game. I would also like to allow the player to customize the appearance of the protagonist and Senpai. I am not planning on allowing the player to play as a male character.

I played videogame called "Kirby's Tilt N' Tumble" recently, all the controls were backwards because of how GBASP is upsidedown from GBC, it was much verydificult in this way.

Only visual novel I know outside of those is Sengoku no Kuroyuri, about the futa sister of Oda Nobunaga. There's been people supposedly translating it, but I don't know whether that's still happening.

There are Escalation ~Kuruai no Fugue~ and Yuukuri Panic Escalation but they're just some fucked up rape fests.
