It might be a plausible theory I have that their defection from the moon might be the reason they both lose their ability to even process a simplest thing in mind and slowly turned into a mere rabbit psychologically, and seeing Reisen understanding what they're saying at the end is because of her ability is well trained as an ex moon rabbit soldier to counter the effect unlike the two of them long time ago.

God yeah this is really fucking depressing. Once both of them have lost the ability to speak and Seiran now has to take care of Ringo but can't really and they both just live in a dump until Reisen comes along to take care of them.

literally got no clue what the fuck this means and i dont see how this is depressing at all it just seems like a slice of life

It's interesting how polarized the reactions on this are. I come back to this occasionally and it's just so vividly sad, every time. I like how this is told in fragmented vignettes that you don't really follow logically as much as feel emotionally, and man does it hit hard...

Theres…. Something to Touhou that makes people wanna give neurological conditions (or fantastical analogues thereto) to even the characters that DON’T already canonically have them. This one’s a pretty well done look into characters loosing their humanoid characterization, but the vagueness-of-cause leaves the ending a weird midpoint of horror and tragedy. Not sure how worried I should be for Reisen here.
