It still feels a little abrupt on Saori's part, of course; age gap tends to go best when there are multiple chapters to help develop the relationship, e.g. Pure Water Adolescence and Hoshikawa Ginza, among others. Still, I thought it was really enjoyable for what it was.

Well yes, because men's and women's social roles are unfortunately so uneven (particularly in Japan) that it basically would be horrible. It's such a different thing that it wouldn't reflect on this manga at all, positively or negatively. So you can't use that as criticism since it's essentially apples and oranges.
