I like this series. However, every now and then, I remember it was written by a man and that spoils it, just a bit, for me. It reminds me that it's just a guy's fantasy about life at an all girls' school. It's kind of the equivalent of the Cinamax sexy softcore porn movies about women's prisons, I use to sneak downstairs late at night, to watch when I was 13.

Sad a man can't do yuri without being tag as fetishist. Seriously, there are yuri hentai artists who are women. And also it's way less ecchi that it use to be and the writing is pretty good. I don't understand why the author being a man should change the way you see it there.

I actually find it so refreshing that a man can be so good at depicting yuri. Kishi-sensei really is incredible.

As somebody with a need for glasses that can only see close and far away is harder with Astigmatism as well past the close point, the author Kishi Torajirou nailed the focus and how it looks sort of in Astigmatism without glasses on.

Even when I'm pretty sure something good has happened I can't help but be really nervous whenever these two are the focus. Because it's pretty obvious that Shizuka has moved on. She has left her toxic thing with Kaoru behind. All her heart belongs to Mio now.

All the discussion about Kaoru and Shizuka doesn't square with my mental picture of their relationship. Kaoru can be a vamp and a harem-builder, but we see all these girls throwing themselves at her, and Hibiki, with her experience, realised chasing her was pointless. But Shizuka enjoyed her time with Kaoru. Kaoru was pretty honest about where they could go, and as she started developing her crush on Tokino Mayoi, she started being blunt about their time being limited. And Shizuka behaved to Mio exactly as Kaoru did to Shizuka - while Shizuka and Kaoru were still an item.

I think Shizuka is considered to be Kaoru Junior by her fellow students, basically. Beautiful and desirable and flirtatious and self-contained. So if people think Kaoru and Shizuka have a toxic relationship, they're both contributing to that. They are definitely better apart, now that they've gotten their wild stuff out of their system, and Kaoru definitely always regrets having one of her harem leave the fold, but at the same time, Bou-chan won't put up with Kaoru's lifestyle so far, so Shizuka, too, is doing Kaoru a favour.
