Because in chapter three the ""Male Trap Character"" as other people have called her shows up and describes herself as a trans woman... So that sounds interesting not a lot of self described trans women in manga and especially not yuri manga.

The word transgender is used, but Utsugi herself comes out as trans by telling them she's "male" on her family register (there's a law for changing it, but a minor can't) then another character says "Oh yeah I heard about this! From this year transgender kids can enroll at our school too! It's a Japan first!" And her profile text that shows up in the margins of the magazine says she's transgender.

Oh nice! I was a little wrong i guess but still. I'm myself and a trans woman myself and mostly mentioned it because both some one earlier in there thread and baka updates manga called her that. But yeah super transphobic. i'm most probably going to commission two or three chapters in four or five months if nobody else does because i am very very interested in yuri trans girls.

This is ending next week. Unless the last chapter does something out of the blue, the only romantic content in the series was Utsugi, the trans girl, wanting to ask out a boy she had been in love with from before she transitioned. When she goes to meet him, after having got Satsuki to help with shopping for clothes so she could look her best, she's devastated by finding out he already has a girlfriend.

Wow I’m actually really into this, seems like a fun series. I hope we get more, but I understand it might take a while with all the translating of wordplay. The translation was really good!

I was just thinking about this earlier this year. I was like “what happened to that rap yuri manga?” I think I have a super power for thinking of specific manga, then having it show up. But regardless, it’s good to see old stuff coming back like that Bakeneko series.
