I don't know why but like apparently late 80s to early 2000s kids huffed random stuff to get high or something? Like I had PSAs about the dangers of huffing paint and stuff in school. Lots of media talked about it from then too... Some older books for teens in the school library just seemed to think it needed little explanation.

Well as the title tells us... It's a period piece. It wouldn't make much sense to set now with everything going on. The kids on the roof the uniforms and the drugs they use are all very late 80 to 90's.

Actually thinking about it has this series sometimes felt a bit... porn plotish? Sometimes it feels like a FictionMania story from the early 2000's. It bugs me.

Also the traced feel is even more with the black girl stereotypes? Especially with how shiny they look.

I think the more curvy designs are just the stuff she's been doing recently? Like look at Yaezakura Sympathy, Apocalypse for Two, and Marionette her most recent works. I feel like they also have more curves then her old work. This may just be her art (and tastes in girls) changing over time.

You know i'm sort of surprised that people think the mc looked to much like a boy. They just looked like a normal tomboy to me. But then again... i like butch lesbians a lot. To be honest I think the first page of the Boku no Hentai Another chapter basically sums up why i'm sometimes uncomfortable recommending this series as a manga with a trans girl in it: They constantly call her a Crossdresser and like... idk. It bugs me. I may be a little more sensitive to stuff like that then most trans women though.

Not to say i don't enjoy reading it but the way they handle her just feels off sometimes. Then again trans people are different in the way they relate to their transness and i have heard other trans women recommend the series and say they related to her. then again that person had a different view of almost all the relationships and stuff. Mainly she focusing on the idea that Marika is the least messed up member of the group and that a lot of her issues came from a mix of dysphoria and the fact that she is trying to relate to dark and edgy fiction stereotype crossdressers and not other trans people. i don't think that's well supported by the text itself though.

Edit: Holy fuck i didn't remember chapter 40. Jesus... Yeah most definitely has problems.

Wow... this is kinda a messed up relationship and i doubt this is really enough to base a ongoing series off of... but i wish there was a bit more. (Also dang this gives me ideas for a story i have been stalled on for a month or so.)
