Speaking of ships, here's a Valentines animation featuring popular ships like Saria x Silence, Hoshiguma x Ch'en and (male) Doctor x Silverash. The person who made this makes a lot of nice Arknights animations, too.

I like vanguards, so sounds like she would pair well with Siege and Texas. Will try getting her.

The "meta" composition is using Bagpipe + Myrtle + Elysium (not yet released) to boost the shit out of your dp generation. With her talent, they only take a few seconds to proc their skills and Bagpipe herself is a really good van"guard". She does massive amounts of dps with her 3rd skill that's on par with Hellagur. Her and Siege are literally just guards that also generate dp lol.

Now that I've said all that, I'd like to say that I'm not actually trying to get her for any meta reasons, I just really like dragon girls. It just so happens a lot of the dragon girls are really good meta-wise. :^)

They filtered for doujins/fan-created content first, and then probably used some of the site's own stats or equations for each ship's popularity. I didn't see anything about filtering for romantic/platonic ships, which probably doesn't matter since most of the ships seem to be romantic ones anyway.

If I understood correctly, "popularity" was a combination of amount of browsing/searches for that tag and amount of creator participation, likely determined through number of works with that tag or unique creators. This leads to some interesting situations where the amount of "participation" in one tag might be significantly less than some other tags', but high viewer interest will bump up its ranking.

...in the end I'm just amazed Silverash + Docter is the most viewed pairing with the most works. Did not expect Mephisto and Faust to be that high either. And I feel vindicated that Saria x Silence beat out Doctor x all. Fuck the doctor.

Seeing gay ships beat out Doc x harem is indeed satisfying. Tbh, I expected the Rhine Lab family parents to be higher. Glad at least there was no Saria x Ifrit. Seeing the Silence x Ifrit and Executor x Vermeil just feels creepy to me. And worse still that these beat out Scavenger x Provence. Still sad that ship is not even there.

Honestly it feels like the Arknights CN community has a lot more women in it so I understand why the BL and Doctor x SilverAsh ships are so popular. Silverash kinda dominated the scene hardcore since he was like, the only REALLY notable male operator for a long while.

Also you should check out Lofter if you want to see more ship art, it's much easier finding fanart there than other sites, and the shipping community is stronger imo. A warning before you do though, if you see "CP" in the text or anything, that does not mean child porn, it's the Chinese slang for "couple." They call everything CP instead of ship so yep.

I am glad that bewilderment on Silence x Ifrit is common. For Warfarin x Ptilopsis, not sure since I cannot read Chinese, but just a guess based on gameplay, perhaps due to their usefulness? Warfarin buffs while Ptilopsis charges skills faster. Actually Warfarin can also charge skills faster.

So I was thinking about what kind of fanfic AUs seem fitting for each Arknights ship and this is what I thought of:

1. Nian x Lava: Reincarnation/Soulmate AU. The reason why is cause Nian's lore suggests she dies and comes back often and it would be really romantic if Lava was the one she's destined to meet every time.

2. Texas x Lappland: AU based off of this Luka x Miku song. It's literally the perfect setup for it. Two mafia family heirs from rival families who entangle with each other and end up falling in love but since they're enemies... you can fill the rest in how you like but personally I think it should end in a tragedy similar to Romeo and Juliet's ending.

3. Shining x Nearl: Knight x Princess AU. Shining as the princess and Nearl as the knight of course. There's a lot of ways this can go since that's just a setting but having Shining ascend the throne as the queen would work great since she's actually really strong in canon.

4. Exusiai x Mostima: Angel x Fallen Angel AU. Yes yes, I know they're literally those races, but I think a more traditional setting with the usual tropes that apply would work very well. Especially since Exusiai is like, canonically super religious so having Mostima tempt her and shit would be cool.

5. Angelina x Meteor: Coffee Shop AU. My fave crackship cause of that one fanartist who draws exclusively for this ship... Meteor as the barista and Angelina as the college freshman who slowly becomes enchanted with her.

I have no clue for Saria x Silence since I mostly enjoy that ship in a "I want them to be a family for Ifrit" and not actually caring for the romantic side of it. It's also cause I really like Saria but don't have nearly as much enthusiasm for Silence.

Those all sound cool. The Texas and Lappland one sounds quite appealing because the song really does fit. Also that Utena / Rose of Versailles homage. The spinning roses at the beginning of the video plus the particular way the roses are drawn make me think it has to be an intentional reference.

CC confirmed for mid Sept so we can expect Bagpipe banner to be then as well. This means Ceobe banner and mini event will definitely be on the 26th when Lantern fest ends. Personally, I appreciate this 2 week break between new banners.

Well it looks like this game will be a pass for me now. I already have enough problems with gambling my money away in FGO (I since removed my credit card from Google Play) so I don't need yet another game that just tempts me to waste my money on characters which will eventually go away once the server shuts down.

There's something that's kinda bugged (ha ...) me for a while now ...
Basically recently I went on a hiking vacation, and the app didn't work on my phone anymore for reasons beyond my understanding. Maybe it thought there was something fraudulent going on because I kept crossing country borders or whatever.
Anyway. As mentioned before I'm not too attached to the game, so I just left it alone for a solid week.

Obviously my expectation was that if I came back everyone at the base would be 100% exhausted and all Production stopped. But ... that wasn't the case. I had - I think - 6 exhausted characters and that was it. And I can't quite wrap my head around that since even if I just play normally and don't switch around my characters before it happens I easily get more exhausted characters within a day.

Do exhausted characters recover after some time? Or is there some sort "if you stay logged out for a while nothing happens" mechanism? Or what's going on there? It just felt really weird ^^;

Sorry Rye but nothing in this world no matter how good or how much money it makes will last forever. Eventually any game that's server based will get shutdown. Sure it might not be today, tomorrow, next week, next month, or even next year. But it doesn't change that it will eventually get shut down. Scorpion indeed, because Early Modern English writers clearly had no fucking idea what one looks like (the OG Persian myth was likely inspired by the bony tips lions sometimes have on their tails, whose purpose and significance is a mystery). But eh, stronk leg and back muscles oughta handle it just fine and going around with the thing is full-time conditioning for those.

Went on another spree of translation. The translation is for this video, a skit done by that same dubber Myrrh shared a few days ago and a few other people. I thought it was pretty funny and of decent length to make it worth challenging. It's a joke redub of a viral Korean Playstation ad. This took me three days to figure out. However, this also goes to show the effort the dubbers must have put into this video, because they redid the entire script in Japanese (like Arknights characters) instead of Korean. They also added in a few scenes and lines that show this was all their own work.

It is in text format because I don't know how to use video editing software, video editing would take even more time, and if anybody did do that, they should go through the original authors first. Ruilin speaks English, and it seems that she subbed her own videos to upload them on Youtube.

Edit: Fan-drawn AMV that was too good not to share. Tells the Rhine Lab's story from Ifrit's POV. Really captures a sense of longing for a normal life/family on her part and draws heavy inspiration from her token.
