Can anyone explain why there's a lot more Tifa x Aeris images than there was in the past? I've played the original FF7, but not the remake. As for this image it looks cute, but really awkward at the same time considering how uncomfortable it would be to try that irl.

^I have no idea what you are talking about. Back when FFVII was relevant there was more Tifa x Aerith art and fanfics than you could ever consume. The remake just created a resurgance.

I'm not surprised by that given how much discussion (and fan art/fanfics) that I see about Madoka (both OG and Rebellion) as well as Magia Record despite the Madoka franchise being almost ten years old right now. I wonder if it'll eventually be like the Evangelion of Magical Girls where people keep discussing it decades later.
