The only context to this image that I can think of is that pharaoh Hatshepsut, (on top of being bi) in order to show herself in the manliest light possible (ancient Egyptians had some kind of religious rule against female rule or something (just some watered down mysoginy)), she also got herself some of those same concubines the other pharaohs had. As if all those trade expeditions, fighting alongside the Egyptian army in military campaigns and, y'know, BEING A PHARAOH wasn't enough.

Marimite is the sole reason for me being a yuri fan to begin with. I have read all the light novels, the manga, watched the series and the live action movie (it's the first Japanese movie I watched without subtitles and fully understood). The quality of the original authoress, who had creative control over the tv show, probably inflated my expectations, but I still feel, having sampled lots of manga and anime and light novels since then, that yuri creators are on average very good writers. Well above average.
