Isn't it the same, just cleaner? I can't tell if the style has changed at all. It still looks like Mochi.

They have noses now, which I would certainly consider an improvement.

And some of the characters that used to have bland black circles for eyes (e.g. Mitsuko Tsuchiyamada) now have actual eyes that are very expressive.

Right? Don't they keep the actual discs in little paper-cases behind the counter? I guess it might be different in Japan, where they don't really have to worry about theft...

I dont think anyone / most people who commented actually don't LIKE it- it was more just slightly preferring the older style because it was a bit more distinctive. The new style is good too.

p.s very nice new chapter- I wondered if there would ever be a development with this one :) It seemed to be more just a little joke series.

p.p.s I wonder why the cashiers to rent prices went up by nearly 10x in the remake? Was it a translation error, or did mochi decided the prices were way too low?

Translation error in the original oneshot, the prices are ¥30,000/¥100,000/¥350,000 in both.

When I saw the title I thought "OMG are they really going to rent xxx?!" but oh it's a new character, a silly one xP
