Both of them are genderless and how these beings come into existence is explained in the story, of which I think I'd probably do a poor job explaining it myself. Whoever made this didn't look at the official timeline. They wouldn't of been able to meet in Otonokizaka.
Old Aqours takes place during when Yukiho and Alisa are third years. When Riko was a first year, Maki would've graduated two years prior.
This crossover ship makes absolutely no sense. It would've been better if they went with how SIFAS will have them all be able to meet.
