Wow, This chapter is too positive for it's own good. Yuzu's coming out felt anti-climatic like it turns out that everyone knows about her affair with Mei and they just didn't care anymore when they found out the truth because they knew it all along.

So, the reason why Harumin was despressed is because Yuzu doesn't want to tell her about her relationship with Mei, despite that everyone knew about it and not because she's in love with her, WHAT A BIG MEH'

Ok well... I think the response from the parents is to be expected...maybe it's all a bit too smooth but on the other hand...we need to see what happens, I wonder what could Mei's dad do here mmmm. It was kind of obvious for everyone tho, so it's logical no one is really surprised.

That coming out was rather underwhelming and hand waved like nothing.

Yeah right.

Even the most supportive parents, in real life, are worried to death, instead of being like "oh well, can't be helped, I trust you and good luck".

She's in love with her step-sister, ffs.

True but considering the experience they went through, they're out of F to give.

This entire setting is extremely unrealistic, so I think expecting realistic responses from all the characters is in itself pretty unrealistic, especially when you consider this series already having more drama than what's welcome. I'm glad everyone seemed like they already knew and were accepting, because they probably did already know, I'm sure it's impossible to not catch on. I think another dramatic arc with Yuzu and her mom being at odds is the last thing this series needs.

I stopped caring about realism after they introduced the ridiculous setting on how Yuzu and Mei's parents got together. I'm actually pretty pleased at how pleasant Yuzu's coming out went, especially because I feel like this whole chapter was one big rushed coming out. It's definitely nearing the end, but it oddly feels like Saburouta is figuring things out as she writes/draws and doesn't actually have a solid storyboard imo.

Also I had a good chuckle at Harumin's "confession". It all depends on how you interpret it, but I think fans across the board will all be happy with that scene.

Agree, Yuzu's mom lost her loved one, she doesnt strike me as someone who would let her beloved daugther experience that pain, Yuzu's most important person still at reach after all. And Mei's dad gave up everthing and went yolo in order to be free and happy, cant see the guy as anything but pure chill.

Gosh, this chapter was so anti-climatic and unrealistic.

Ok Citrus is unrealistic but this coming out was bad writing. There is no way mom and dad would be all OK with this, for God's sakes Ume had the girls sleeping on the same bed all this time!

Other than that: Harumin's reaction was strange. How are we supposed to interpret her sad face when Yuzu told her she loves Mei as lover? Was she sad because Yuzu hadn't told her before or something else? Looks like Matsuri got kind of sad too, presumably because Harumin came out as straight indirectly by saying Yuzu goes that way (without saying she does too lol).

But I don't think any parent would ever thought that Yuzu's affection towards Mei is nothing more than a sisterly love.

Bunch of whiners here! The chapter was fine honestly. I don't know what you all expected. Sometimes coming out isn't even a big deal to anyone except the person coming out. The parents always felt easy going to me so I expected them to be supportive. Plus this is Citrus we are talking about, when was it ever realistic writing? You expect Saburouta to be some high level tier writer lol. Oh and if you're all whining over realism and how easy the coming out was... I have a feeling Mei's grandpa won't be as accepting.

Anyways, Love Harumin and she's such a bro. Wish I had a best friend like her.

It helps that Ume and Mei's dad were portrayed as an understanding and loving parents but I didn't expect them to be this accepting. after all, they are technically married. it's like Saburo Uta just throws out every consequences of this situtation out of the window.

I'm expecting an extra chapter of Harumin confessing her true feelings for Yuzu by narrating it through her perspective.

Saburouta was clearly trolling the readers making us think that Harumin had feelings for Yuzu. They are well aware of what they are doing lol

I don't know if you remember that Saburo Uta made an arc about how society frowns upon same-sex relationship and how the main plot of the story is that they are step-sisters in love with each other.

your point being? Citrus was never a heavy drama focusing on social commentary. It's a cheesy romance novel. The arranged marriage is a cliche straight out of a forbidden love story. Also the fact with them being step sisters. Obviously the story is coming to a close so Saburouta isn't going to take the extra time to draw out something like unaccepting parents. There were enough depressing chapters lately anyway it's nice to get something positive.

Yeah, I thought I should just suffer through it just to see the ending of one of first yuri series I ever read. But this chapter finally convinced me that it just isnt worth it. There is no way this series can come to a satisfying conclusion and from this chapter it makes it look like Saburouta doesnt even care. I like to thank all the other series I dropped teaching me that sunk cost fallacy can be applied to manga even and I need to learn to not fall for that trap.

Maybe Citrus isn't story-centric about social norms but the fact that Saburo Uta made an arc about how close minded society can be regarding same sex relationship is proof that homophobia exist in Citrus storyline.

If I was in that situation, I guess I'd just come back to see how it ends but only when the actual last chapter is published. I still think this series is best read in one go.

Or just forget it altogether, I think that happened more often than not when a series disappointed me.

Honestly, I enjoyed so far. Sure, the whole thing had me crying internally in anguish at some of the scenes, but personally, I enjoy the random drama and cliche that it follows at times. The art dragged me along, and the story threw me around like a chew toy. Still, I like where it's going. Just a personal opinion of mine, lol.

I honestly thought that Yuzu's coming out to her parents will be narrated detailedly in an intense and yet awkward drama scenario but it was time skip to "We're chill that you and your step-sister were banging each other" LOL
