Speaking of Flying Witch, my blu-ray copy just came in and I'm ready for max comfy redux. The entire aesthetic of the show is just so wonderfully pleasant and understated. I really don't know of any other show quite like it.

If you want an uplifting game, take a look at Journey on the PS4. Easily one of the most beautiful games ever made and probably my #2 top game ever (and I've played a lot of video games). It's only 2-3 hours long though and not free so it might not be what you had in mind if you're looking for something to occupy your time with.

Oh, I didn't take you as being rude in any way at all. Believe me I've totally been there in regards to not being able to afford stuff, I screwed up my life for a while after college and have only recently started to turn it around. Also Okami is definitely a great choice, I'm thinking of picking up the PC remaster when it goes on sale.

Having finished with “Your Name”, I’m certain that now I have one more in my collection of favorite titles. Good job, Makoto Shinkai.

Is anyone else here into EDM/raves? I'm normally pretty shy and antisocial but there's nothing I love more than going to a rave in a ridiculous outfit and dancing all night until I can't stand up. Just got home from a weekend festival and I'm still buzzing... happy new year everyone!

Bruh, It's one of my goals in life to be apart of an EDM rave! I'm a huge fan of Electronic Dance Music! Tracks like this always get me hyped!

Yes, but I am a snobby snobby snob, so I like styles of EDM few have ever heard of. But I love 90s techno music, Suomisaundi and Goa.

Last year I had the privilege to visit Tokyo. The culture of staying out until the first train on the weekend means that the city is friendly to all-night dancing. I'm sober and have experienced the "busted party" too many times (I'm American), so I appreciated that.

Do it! Hearing tracks like this blasting out of a proper soundsystem surrounded by a hyped up crowd is just a totally awesome experience! And then before you know it you're spending hundreds or thousands of dollars a year chasing that next fix...

I'm actually a fan of Goa/psytrance, but yeah everyone I know just thinks it's really weird. Really want to go to a psytrance festival at some point but it seems like a pretty niche thing in the US, and the ones that do exist all seem to involve camping out in the woods which I'm really not down for.

Do people in Tokyo get as wasted as Americans tend to do over NYE? The few times I've gone out for NYE here I found the level of overall drunkenness way too extreme for me to enjoy myself.

I'd like to know the answer to that too, but I feel like Tokyo is too big for any easy generalizations, you know? I didn't see anyone falling down drunk when I went out raving, at least. If there was anything other than alcohol people kept it to themselves. (I live in SoCal which is... um, less discreet)

IDK, I think being outdoors and in nature is a big part of the festival experience, but I agree that some creature comforts are important. I didn't go but ZNA looked great last year, lots of classic psy/goa artists and a beautiful setting.

If it's OK to plug here, I compiled an album a couple of years ago that you might find interesting.

My sister loves psy-trance, hitech, etc. I want to understand her, but the most "hardcore" stuff I can get into is DJ TECHNORCH and USAO, stuff of the such. As long as it has a weeb vibe, it makes it more accessible for me. Then again, she does go to the weird gigantic tent with lights and acid parties which I absolutely take no interest in.

Touhou music circles are EDM candy for me.

Hmmm...since its not TECHNICALLY Mira of Peachpulsar, figured I would post in this thread about it. I came across another Mira that threw me at first cause it was a Vanilla Het that was put in with Mira (Peachpulsar) collections. But I could tell immediately that it wasn't our lovely Yuri artist because the character designs were different. And it didn't technically have the Happily Ever After ending (it was straight up porn instead of more romantic centered). However, this Mira is part of the Mirrorworld group (not sure, never heard of that).

^I look forward to your posts, your writing is always pleasant and nice, no matter the content.

It looks like I might be going back to college again, if this program accepts me. I don't entirely regret dropping out initially, but I just don't see people most of the time, and I can't meet new people either. My high school friends seem to have finally lost patience with me. They went to a party without me on New Years Eve, and just put a photo up on Facebook with the caption "Squad reunited," minus one member of that so-called squad. The only thing I look forward to is weightlifting, but my knee is injured and taking an eternity to heal.

Sorry for all the complaining. I'll try to come up with something better to talk about later.

This thread is the place to let out thoughts and feelings and to seek -if not for reconfort- at least for some (kind) people to talk to. Don't have much time on my hands to participate in the café anymore, but I still try to lurk around and stay up to date. Anyhow, wish everyone a [late] happy new year, and the best in and for life ! :)

Ashleigh

Glad to see you hang around here again. Cool that you got Netflix, there's a huge amount of series and anime to watch ; but be careful, it can really become time-consuming :P

cyricc

So there actually are people watching (and perhaps reading) Houseki no kuni ? I'd recommend everyone to watch the anime : if not for the plot itself, at least for how well animated and how beautiful it is in terms of graphics !

themusicman500, your high school friends sound super cold. :/ If it helps, I didn't go back to college until I was in my thirties. And if you take that path, you'll probably meet people closer to your own level of maturity.

Does anyone have a thing you really enjoy doing but for some reason haven't done said thing in awhile because you're so unmotivated? If so, how the heck do you get motivated to do the thing again?

For me, that thing is the Violin, haven't played it since last year. Funny thing is that I just got back into playing it again after about almost two years of not playing. Like, last time I played it was when I played Decretum for my high-school talent show, it's definitely so far my favorite thing I played on the Violin. I still have zero clue why I haven't gotten off my ass and picked it up again, maybe it ain't even a lack of motivation but just laziness.....Lol.

Not to mention my new years resolution was to play the violin more.......

Hey you! (σ‾▿‾)-σ I remember you! ^^ Good to see that you're back! (。⌒∇⌒)

For me that also would be writing. I do still write a few words every now and then but I totally miss the time when everything in my life seemed to revolve around it and everything I did just led to more of it. I just miss that burning passion that seemed to define me and my life.... щ(ಥДಥщ)
It made me, helped me see the world with different eyes and confronted myself with every dark corner of my inner self.
And now... I just feel like a puppet without strings most of the time...

Gaming would also be one of those things. It used to be sooo fun – and a little frustrating (◦’ںˉ◦) – but mostly fun. And nowadays I just don't get around to it anymore...
Growing up sure is tough. ;)

If so, how the heck do you get motivated to do the thing again?

No idea... sorry... maybe confronting yourself with stuff that used to get you in the mood? Like movies, books or music...?
In my case it would probably help to get rid of the stress that has built up inside and create a safe haven where there's no immediate pressure, to have some room to dive into my own mind again without being disrupted...

Well... I guess that's that...

And also: Happy new year everyone! I'm a little late for that, of course, but I guess that defines me nowadays ;) but it is an honest wish that's why I still wanted to get it out!

And here's a song (ノ゚▽゚)ノ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3cEWRdCI8w
A truly haunting version of a Depeche Mode classic and still one of THE best songs ever created. So there you have a little tribute to that. ;)

Let's say that, theoretically, somebody in this very thread wanted to do a Kickstarter for a yuri visual novel. What would you expect/want out of stretch goals and pledge tiers?

More yuri.

Seriously though I have no idea and I don't have time right now to even think to suggest something, so maybe later
