Expert programming is a must for a robot that will interact with humans on the regular. You gotta lift them out of that uncanny valley for people to like them. If you think about it, our brains aren't too different from computer programs either. Our OS is just a little more squishy.

Bu uncanny valley is an issue when something is very close to being human, yet is not actually - when it looks or behaves subtle differently than expected. So if you can't make your "robots" perfectly human, it might be better to deliberately make them sort of alien (and the comment about seams being visible is right there in uncanny valley-problem territory...).

Don't know if I'm a cynic, a realist or a pessimist, but I'd never get a sexbot like this. Leeza could just have easily gone yandere without even dropping the excited smile, and part of me would always be checking. An AI capable of love is an AI capable of hate.

Hell, not even hate, it might just be a weird coding error or logic fault that makes her facial recognition software see me as someone else and calmly choke me to death, I'unno, man, robots are scary when their programming isn't transparent.

Given that most people are murdered by their immediate family or someone else they are very close to unless something goes very wrong robots will probably be safer than other humans. ^^

Eh, it's more a matter of warning. Sure, family and friends are more likely to kill me, but at least I'll understand why and when it might happen. I'll see it coming, you know? Robot might kill me because a pressure sensor was gummed up and the welcome home hug contained 10000 newtons of hydraulic force.
