A dragon might not be able to make a human long lived - or maybe just Tooru dosn't know that kind of magic? It also might be possible for humans from her world to extend life - it is a fantasy world full of very powerful magic wielding humans after all.

But the dragons will still vastly outlive their human friends even if you extended their lives. But they could spend a very happy humans life worth of time together at least.
