shirobako's shipping is more like-- "man these characters have a strong bond and you could definitely see them going out in the background and the show wouldn't make a big deal of it because that's not what it's about" ig? It's very non-baity in the traditional sense, more about "here's killer realistic interactions between people who fit together" which is nice!!

Oh, spelling error on page 22. "Lead" in this case should be "led".

Sure, that works!

Shirobako is pretty great. It's a look into the anime industry that tries to be realistic, most characters are likeable and there's no romance of any sort, so there's a lot of potential for shipping.

There are very few yuri doujins for this series out there and seeing one translated is awesome!

It also manages to show how ineffective the hierarchical Japanese work culture with its blame shifting and sweeping mistakes under the rug can be. Watching the worst parts nearly drove me up the wall and made me appreciate my job and work environment.

e: I kind of think the art style resembles Kumichou's, but then again I found Shittorioblate's works to also resemble Kumichou's in some parts. Maybe everything that somehow looks rough starts to look like Kumichou's at some point if you look at it long enough.

ps: Midori best wingman!

i really like the faces in this. good pacing, too. the art style feels really familiar but i just can't place it.

Sorry if this is nitpicking but I can't help asking (sort of an occupational disease - it has been on my mind since yesterday):

Shouldn't

And, while I waited, I really started to fall in love with you too.

be progressive aspect instead of simple aspect?

Depicts the situation Yano talks about much better.

Maybe I've been too strict during grading recently? Thanks for your answer and sorry about the nitpicking.

i feel like i should be more offended people are picking apart the script like this but actually i think it's a sign it was a great enough read people really want to analyse it

In my case it's more a matter that I've read it about a dozen times already, and now going to do it again.

man if you like it that much you GOTTA watch the actual show, it's hella rad (as everyone in the thread is saying repeatedly. shirobako fans are symphogear-level passionate sometimes etc)

Something about this doujin grabs me and won't let me go. It doesn't hurt that it has Aki Eda-esque art, which I'm fond of to start with.

It's kinda something about me, if I really, really like a story I'll re-read it a bunch of time, often in a row. Like when I read the webcomic Narbonic, I binged on it three times straight. I can't tell you how many times I've read Pieta and Mainichi Seitan and XXXholic.

Hm, this reminds me. I should finally take the time to read Pieta.

oh of course, it reminds me of aki eda. it's so obvious now that you say it.

I'll be honest, it only occurred to me right before I typed that.

This was nice. I need more doujins by this artist (who I knew for some time due to Idolmaster fanart but recently found out she also does Shirobako fanart).
I also need to watch Shirobako already.
