The no underwear thing isn't really a surprise seeing as its saki, altough butshots are really becoming more common. Altough for some reason it seems to be mostly the loli buts that gets shown off(Yuki, Hatsumi, Hajime, Koromo).

But these lateast developments really makes it feel likeit was worth it too start liking Yuki after that stuff round chapter 70. With that premonition that has been pretty much confirmed at this point and hinted at then she's surprisingly turning into quite a monster.

Also any chance of the earlier chapters getting uploaded here?

Same place on their FTP if you're familiar with mounting remote folders.

lol, dang, that was moe. I know that this is moe mahjong and all (i.e. mahjong with moe side elements and characters), but I never expected to feel moe over a player's actual way of playing mahjong.

the moe mahjong is highly deceptive.

The Saki universe is filled with despair, broken dreams and dysfunctional families.

This is what I have gathered from /u/.

We have Saki's mom and sister who left her and her father. There is the issue with Shino's mother. The Matsumi sisters and Koromo's parents are dead. Nodoka's parents are workaholic. Mako raised by her Grandfather from a very young age (who is that lady? her mom, sis, aunt?). Hajime was sold off by her Dad to the Ryuumonbuchis and Tomoki was kicked out of her parent's house for being a NEET. They aren't perfect families but the only true mass of dysfunctional families would be Kiyosumi.

I suspect their lesbian mahjong powers increases the gayer these characters they become. Specially if they have a strong lesbian bonding, but to truly become a mahjong monster or a demon they must harness the power of despair, tragedy and broken dreams. Clearly Ritz is one mess up lady.

So. I never really picked up Saki because Mahjong was so confusing to me. But I have finally caught up on the manga and finished the first season of the anime. The anime has very pleasing amounts of yuri. I mean, Nodoka blushes like every three seconds at Saki.

Anyway. I really like the series, and I actually have tried to pick up Mahjong, since I've grown up playing a lot of versions of Solitaire with my family (we have a casino dealer in the family). I am awful at it, though. Computer beats me badly 95% of the time. Has anyone else tried it out? It's kind of addicting.

Saki definitely got me into mahjong. It also got me into other great mahjong manga/anime, like Akagi and The Legend of Koizumi. However, Saki remains my absolute favourite mahjong series of all, and one of the things I have maintained from early on is that Saki is just as much worth examining from a technical mahjong perspective as more 'gritty' series (like Akagi), even though much of its play is based on superpowers. The interaction between each character's abilities, and especially the strategies various characters must develop and employ to fight against other players' abilities, definitely allows mahjong to bring a whole new level of depth and enjoyment to the Saki series, even if many people have started out simply enjoying it on a character or yuri/subtext level.

Regarding mahjong itself, much of the Saki community on /a/ regularly plays and hangs out at the Tenhou L7447 lobby. In the past there was a mahjong league, and even now they are hosting tournaments. After getting a bit familiar with the basics, I have found osamuko.com and justanotherjapanesemahjongblog (this one is a bit more advanced/technical) extremely good references for improving my mahjong play, and arcturus.su is a great reference for anybody needing help getting around the Tenhou service. Personally, I have been playing with the handle Ako555 in L7447 since about the end of December last year, and also recently started working my way up towards Dan in the ranked lobby (lobby L0), which has definitely been an engaging, sometimes thrilling, sometimes frustrating experience.

This chapter did leave me slightly confused with Rinkais players name. I thought she was meant too be French but both Choe and Myeonghwa can't exactly be called very French sounding names. Altough I guess it's just Ritz doing whatever.

She is French-Korean. Keep in mind that except for Satoha, all of Rinkai's players are exchange students.

Yeah, as Yumi is rooting for Hisa too, but as a surrogate for their own journey. It's different in my eyes from Mihoko.

Besides, Mihoko would be all like : http://i.imgur.com/9sMDIRy.jpg
