Yes to both. I dabble in traps myself from time to time and well, I see a boy in the mirror each morning.
See, in that image in particular the proportions are closer to a couple of boys than is to a couple girls, the faces are also pretty angled somethng typically associated with male characters. Curves are virtually inexistent and paired with the stern expression of the white haired character it only furthers the impression of the characters being boys.
