please her bi egotistical being

Yes, I can see how you have nothing against bisexuals considering the way you rant about avoiding them like they have the fucking plague. Damn that Ririko for dating someone else instead of waiting for years under the sakura trees on the off-chance that Kiwa makes up her mind, what an egotistical bitch!

God, this thread is asinine.

Gosh, his thread is just as dramatic as the story itself. Love happens and shit happens. Kiwi can't help but falling for Ririko while the other might/might not share the same feeling.
They both moved on with their life and met again in the future. The story was open-ended to let the readers let their imagination run wild. Some will think it is a bad end while the other see it as an optimistic one. I love a happy conclusion so I will just assume they will hook up again but we just don't see it XD

I believe she wasn't insinuating that female Bisexuals are evil, just that not good for lesbians as they can also fall in love with men and might choose men over women.

To quote @queenofyuri:

They can break your heart into tiny little pieces.

I believe she was speaking from past experience. It's her free will to express her opinion of being a lesbian but not liking female bisexuals. Though, the whole concept sounds hypocritical.

arg, there's no love in this story. Just like they take what they need and go on their way ==

Who the hell pissed in your Cheerios? >.>

Biphobic bigotry? Haaaa...if what Queen said was bigotry then I better go apologize to that guy I punched in the face because he screamed at me for an hour about how I was going to hell (that old song) because I was a lesbian.

You must be reading too much into Queen's (say it with me now) opinion, or not thinking enough because there was nothing biphobic or bigot about her opinion. She brings up valid points about the manga itself and was simply warning us of people like Ririko do exist, and to just be aware that people you date will break your heart without you realizing it. She did not say all bisexuals do this, so her opinion was not biphoic or bigot it was biased, like everyone's opinion in the world.

Which makes it kinda disturbingly accurate to real life.

I see the ending as "an adult relationship appears" :o

I think Ririko will cheat on her fiancé, shagging w/ Kiwa as much as she can. And If is the case that she wants to please her family, probably Ririko will keep that marriage and insists going out with Kiwa.
At least, reading those final lines, it seemed Kiwa was sure about Ririko's feelings toward her. I mean, it seemed she will try one more time now that she realized what she really want: conquer. /Am I being optimistic? xD HU3/

By the way, I loved the story! I think it would be cool if it turned into a series; a mature one. :P

As much as I love for Ririko and Kiwa getting together, I would hate to see Ririko cheat on her fiance. Love your idea by the way, excluding the cheating point XP

Would anyone change their opinion, if Ririko's fiance is a GIRL?

I may miss it, but the way i see it, they didn't specify the gender of that fiance (other than the 'have kid' part, but science allows it nowadays). Who know, maybe its setting was in 2020 where same-sex marriage is already legalised and widely accepted.

Because... i don't know, i thought the story was kinda sweet, Until i ask myself that same question. And now i can't see Ririko and Kiwa (especially Ririko) the same way again..

To my knowledge gay marriage isn't legal in japan yet.

I have no idea what the ding-ding is goin' on here, but i came to say my opinion on this manga XD
Yah, it was cute and the characters are awesome. It kinda misses somethin' and i would say it's "Sex after meeting again" or somethin' like that, ya know, kiss/touchin' or whatever. :)

Holy shit, what happened in this thread lol. Did not expect a 68 post discussion on a simple oneshot.

Not to criticise anybody but I think some yuri fans are too uptight and pre-emptively negative. Doing things like automatically assuming a bad ending or categorizing more natural, realistic stories as porn.

This oneshot certainly isn't particularly romantic but it is hardly trashy (nor unfriendly towards 'real' yuri). I'm actually pretty fond of the ending. Towards the start of the story Kiwa talks about how Ririka's current personality is 'boring'; i.e. conservative dress, learning to cook for her (to-be) husband, basically preparing to turn into a housewife who stays at home to look after the kids. That's in contrast to her highschool personality, which had a bit of a wild, out there, mature charm. What I totally love about the ending is just how the body language and expressions show that wild side coming out of Ririka again, show Kiwa triggering it through her advance on Ririka. While on some levels this is a bit problematic from a 'pure', 'romantic' yuri perspective (the fact that Kiwa is clearly playing up her adult, stylish appearance, and seems to be appealing to Kiwa's 'naughty' side), it's pretty engaging on the simple 'get the girl' level (and also maybe on the 'ntr the boring fiance who just wants a docile, domestic trophy wife' level). The point is that it's completely clear that Kiwa's in a position to sweep Ririka out of that marriage, the remaining question is whether they can transition after that into a stable, normal, loving relationship (for which, ultimately, I think the answer is: for damned sure).

You know... this oneshot reminds me, "Never never dare to experiment lesbian stuffs with a bisexual or straight girl/woman."

Very nice and introspective. The credits tell a lot about thei futur (I've understood so, at least)

wow... um well this thread was a bit dramatic, but back to the actual manga!

this story was interesting, I think the ending was left a little open... maybe kiwa confessed once they were alone together?? who knows, but I like to be optimistic

I think what it's lacking is feeling tbh. Little to no facial expressions that actually...you know...express feelings.

upon reread of both the manga and this thread:

the manga was pretty average as far as story goes. takes a more 'heavy' approach to romance. and like many others have said we dont know if ririka is actually guy crazy or cheating. i am sure we have all run into the manga where the girl makes herself come off as 'guy crazy' so that no one suspects her true love or know one takes away her true love.

also like to give a +1 to kongetsume. since i agree that i thought both of them were just really insecure and confused. so i thought the ending was really awesome in the way that kiwa resolved to do everything possible to have ririka fall in love with her.

so in short i am still optimistic about the end of the manga

as for the comments, i actually sat down and read that huge block of text. and some of the follow up posts... and there is biphobia all over the place. saying bi people just want to have sex with the same sex (implying they can't actually fall in love with the same sex), calling them egotistical, true lesbians shouldnt fall for bi people (as a guy i assume this reasoning transfers to bi guys and gay guys). and then other people try and justify it with

I believe she wasn't insinuating that female Bisexuals are evil, just that [its] not good for lesbians as they can also fall in love with men and might choose men over women

and then to top it all off

Never never dare to experiment lesbian stuffs with a bisexual or straight girl/woman

its like the heartbreak suffered from your lover breaking up with you and going to someone of the same sex, and the heartbreak suffered from your lover breaking up with you and going to someone of the opposite sex is completely different. it is psychological, where you seem to take a personal insult when they go to the opposite sex

if that isnt bigotry i dont know what is

I've read this story so many times before but this time I really see myself in Kiwa. It is exactly what's happening to me right now except that the girl I have a crush on is a lesbo but our feelings never crossed. She just got out of her 3-years-relationship mean while, just like Kiwa, I've always been looking for a relationship with my crush. I like how the plot changed. At first, Kiwa disgusted people chasing after love and eventually she got trapped in the routine. She was so certain about her love life until she met Ririko and she does got insecurities like other girls do. Another similarity is that we ended up not talking to each other and decided to move on. But deep down inside me, my love for her is still there. If one day we accidentally meet up, I would reposition myself to see if things would work out between us.
Few years later, Kiwa became more experience and impressed Ririko with her maturity. She also became more determined than ever by stating that "This time I won't let you go". I think after this reunion, Chances are Ririko will rethink about her marriage and cancel the wedding.

She let her go, and Ririko being the typical bi fell for a dude.

lol Clearly you haven't met a lot of bisexual ladies out there.
