The Legend of Korra will continue as comics written by Michael DiMartino, published by Dark Horse! I’ve been working on the story with Mike, and I’ll be consulting on the art (once we secure an artist/artists). I made the images above for our announcement at the Dark Horse panel, which just finished up. Exciting stuff!

"We're definitely going to focus on Korra and Asami's relationship,"
DiMartino said. (Suffice to say, this was met with huge applause from the audience.) Same as the Avatar comics, the Korra comics will detail the aftermath of the show, with no major time jump from Book Four to Volume One. In other words, the comics will pick up around where the animated series left off.

According to the co-creators, they have three volumes of Korra comics planned.

They couldn't show anything with them and could only subtly suggest they are together, because of Nickelodeon, so there is no freaking way they would break them after all that xD

You never know. Wasn't Dark Horse the gritty one of the publishing houses? It could get pretty dark :P

because title was published there? Comic is comic. It's like they said once about The Adventure Time. They can't do Bubbline canon in cartoon because it's running in countries they won't agree for this relationship, but comics are different story...

Important thing to remember is one reason they avoid overt homosexuality in animation is it restricts what countries they can sell the series to. Comics don't have that kind of distribution, so it's not so much of an issue. However, the idea there's be sex is ridiculous, since there would still be limits due to Nickelodeon’s interest written into the contract.

As to Dark Horse being dark & gritty, they publish a variety of stuff, especially in book form. For instance.
