Alternately, we're looking at the iterative model of time travel, and this is the very first loop. The original time travel creates a paradox threshold that puts future events on hold until the paradox is resolved. Future self 1 meets her own past self 1, who is a virgin as remembered. Both selves lose their virginity, older-1 returns to the future, and in doing so passes the threshold and functionally ceases to exist. The intervention causes younger-1 to grow into older-2 who travels to the past†, encountering her younger-2 self. This intervention creates older-3, and so on.
This process repeats an unknowable amount of times until older-n and older-(n+1) are identical, at which point a stable time loop is formed. The potential paradox having been resolved, the threshold created by the original time travel ceases to be, and time continues normally. All previous loops have been overwritten, erasing all evidence there was ever more than one loop. A time traveler may have academic knowledge that other loops existed, but no being in existence will ever remember anything other than the final, stable time loop.‡ It's only our privileged position from outside of time that allows us to see this moment that the universe itself forgot.
Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a paradox scope and yuri goggles, and I intend to use them.
†: Or doesn't, in which case a paradox occurs and you need to break out the magical girls.
‡: Except for things which can exist within time paradoxes, in which case you really need to be calling the magical girls already. Sonic screwdrivers are all well and good, but they just don't have the same oomph as swords and lasers powered by the light of an unyielding soul.
