Hmmm ..
One part of me feels glad (but another part of me feels terrible) that my trauma and pains in the past few years had caused me unintelligible because I realize that I have no idea what's all these argument and fights about -- they are very long and long indeed but I cannot understand some or most parts of them. I'm so sorry.

And second..

Ummm... Let's not fight anymore. I understand that everyone has their own interpretation on the works mangaka has given. Some are waaaay off (I think?) about the true intention of mangaka has drawn.

Let's just focus on the laughs and the mahou shoujo manga.
Actually, it's quite funny, don't you think so?
That mouse definitely needs more spanking for making mistakes (◡ ω ◡)

Spank spank

If it's some hate comments, it's best to just ignore.
(Is there a report button?)
There's no reason to make yourself angry about comments that don't worth your time.
Productive comments are better.
What if mangaka actually comes around, lurk and see the comments?
They may want to improve better.

So we should focus on making constructive comments x'D (just two cents)

Meh. I suppose it can be called yuri when it ends with a lesbian marriage, but really, it just serves as a gag.

Checking the author's pixiv is more or less what I expected, and I am going to make the bold meek assumption he's just your average cishet dude (who also likes ridiculous balloon-boobs) who generally never had to think about societal structures and therefore doesn't.

Like, I doubt there was an ill intent in writing this, but ... yeah, sex changes as throwaway punchline, some pretty weird comphet attitudes, yuri as a punchline and the implicit assumption that a women's worth is only to be found in her marriage...

At the other hand, the monsters servants holding the banner in the final panel are gosh-darn cute.

I would gladly marry Hazuki but she is taken now, and fictional.

I love straight girl in yuri
This was fun as fuck. Kind of sad that she ended up marrying a woman but broke up with the “boyfriend” who was a girlfriend

yeah that's a good point poor her (the "boyfriend")

eh, kinda weird and not really fun at all

Pretty amusing bag of chaos, but not really yuri. Missing mutual attraction and same-sex romance part.

Magical shotgun wedding doesn't count. :D

LOL very true

He managed to be somewhat worse than Kyubey. At Kyubey was trying to save the universe, this guy is just a menace.

Well, I would have said that the punchline was that the main character didn't actually want to be in a lesbian relationship based on her reaction to her would-be spouse and that this is just a story about a homophobic (because of how she's using the term normal here in terms of relationships) straight woman. We don't even get a panel of the sort of "well, you're not what I expected but maybe I can live with it" you get from people who are a bit more invested in a queer relationship but probably don't know too many queer people. No, here it's practically an "ewww no"!

(And lest people start coming at me for something I haven't said I am not saying you can't write a story about a homophobic straight woman, but you're going to have to do a lot of work to make me think of it as anything besides boring or annoying.)

The main thing that's on my mind with this one-shot, is that Hazuki has been a Magical Girl for 30 years by the mid-point in the story. So how old was Mamu when she became the mascots fiancee? She doesn't seem that much younger in the flashback but I can't help but wonder

I don’t think is important as she is clearly a loli character, especifically the loli with 826+ years

I think it's kind of cute that the alien girl seems to mainly be attracted to the main girl because she also has beady little black eyes.

Oh wowzers this one has caused a lot of heated discussion.

Is it homo* or transphobic. Hmm. I am trans myself but like, idk, maybe a little? But to me it's more in the way a lot of under-baked comedy tends to be as opposed to necessarily being indicative of anything the author has thought about deeply. Which is a problem in its own way you could say, certainly. I think there's a distinction between that and serious malice, though?

That's just my opinion, of course. Some people are more or less sensitive to these things and that's just the nature of the human experience being so broad.

boobtwinkler you're saying a lot of shit for somebody who isn't trans so maybe perhaps step the fuck back.

@BoobTwinkler - as someone who has more than once stepped into the Dynasty Maelstrom of Bad Faith Interpretation Comments, I feel for ya, and all I can say is, there's no reaching a lot of people here, and you'll feel better just letting it go.

FWIW this is a one-shot gag manga about an aged-out, fed-up magical girl and the scumbag mascot who conned her into the job. Everything else around that is in service of that joke and it's obvious to me it has no ill intention toward anyone. You're just supposed to laugh at the idea that someone who only ever wanted a boring mainstream life is being strung along by situations that are definitely NOT that.

Another thing, since this is a translation from a language FUNDAMENTALLY different from English, it's a mistake to bring too much exigesis into the word choices and build a whole interpretive framework around them. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

In college I had a roommate whose previous THREE girlfriends all left him for women. That's just not a usual thing, and it's objectively funny to be in that position, assuming it's just happenstance and you're in a healthy place psychologically. He was well within healthy boundaries when he was like, "Is there something about me? What is going on here? Why do I keep ending up in this position? This is a little weird right?" No one was mad or upset about it, we laughed, and moved on.

The "girl who wanted straight marriage ends up being married to the magical girl antagonist" is a funny trope, let's just say that the writing in this doesn't really support more than that trope ;-)

I understand the argument here but I'm not wholly convinced by it. Yes, the languages have vastly diffierent grammatical structures and a lot of difference in how ideas are communicated, but I think way too many people go from that to unsupported conclusions that the texts therefore cannot express equivalent ideas. I welcome pushback on my argument here -- I am certainly not a native Japanese speaker -- but this is coming a little to close to what you get from hack columnists about, like, "the untranslatable concept of naruhodo".

The raws are on pixiv. The work uses furigana so it's not terribly difficult to audit the word choice relative to the Japanese. I am not really convinced there is a subtext that is being lost in this communication (and indeed, you'll sometimes see normal as a loanword in similar contexts for straightness, with the equivalent to BL and GL being NL, for example). Perhaps I am being uncharitable but I don't particularly think that a story that ends with the [straight] female main character being shacked to a woman she doesn't particularly like or enjoy being around is one that's really informed by much queer theory. I suppose it's an appealing concept if you're, say, Teren Mikami but even then it's something only dwelled on for a single page, if not a single panel.

I think it's ultimately a gag story whose main conceit isn't that funny and the parts that did work have been done better elsewhere
