^^^^ it's not that she's short but in a lot of doujins back in the 2000s Sakuya's abouts of working for SDM was mostly theorized or had a lot of fan made-up stories of how she started working for the SDM. Which this in particular is Sakuya working for the SDM when she was a child and was adopted by Remilia. It's been awhile since I've read touhou doujins lol but I do remember in particular that there was quite a bit of touhou doujins like that when it came to Sakuya's whereabouts in general

Thanks to this comment section I started reading the manga adaptation (up to the end of the first arc atm), and it's great. Body-swap premise aside, it tackles its subject matter pretty seriously when it comes to the poisonous environment of courtly intrigues. Don't know how it'll all end up but so far it's been getting more yuriful as it goes along.

^I caught up with the licensed Eng version of the manga and have been reading the LN sporadically, I think the expressions, blushes, gazes and sighs which highlight the personalities of the characters (and, probably relevant and important around here, crank up the yuri-ness of the interactions in the otherwise non-yuri setting) are better conveyed in the manga than LN, and the manga has been adapting quite faithfully, so you won't miss much if you just stick to the manga (except for the story progress, words are quicker to publish than drawings illustrating those words). The writting technical quality is fine, nothing exceptional but not bad either, and the story itself is entertaining enough.
Ultimately it's inner court struggle genre, with some magical components (no yuri ending), if you like the genre I'd recommend it, it's one of the better in the genre.

I'm not too familiar with their lore, but Momoyo's theme song is "The Princess Who Slays Dragon Kings" and Shou's is "The Tiger-Patterned Bishamonten". In chinese mythology, tigers and dragons are rivals, so maybe Momoyo and Shou bonded over "fuck dragons".
