Well, I think it's a decent and good ending overall. I won't complain about it, even though I can see through my eyes the potential for one more volume. All of the introduced conflicts resolved themselves in away satisfying and such a way that it makes sense; Miwa got to talk with her ex once more and finally end the lingering feelings behind what had happened, Miwa got to tell her mom the truth, Akane can be herself in front of An (even if it is just at home), and An has a strong family, even if it isn't a conventional one by any means. It's clear that even though Akane and Miwa are not necessarily in romantic love with one another, there still is love, from both of them to An, and perhaps platonic love to each other.

Children are not dumb. Explaining akane's nature is not difficult. In fact, Akane should probably keep switching between male and female outfit and eventually only female. An would understand that Akane is neither a normal male nor female, and that was all she needed to know. The one thing she actually need is to know that Akane will be continue to be in her life.
As for the household, it is unusual. trans and cis woman who are both heterosexuals. Together through a close friendship or platonic love, while the cis woman Miwa is the actual adoptive parent of An. I wonder if there is any legal procedure or paperwork that can be done so that in an emergency, akane can make decision about An if Miwa or Miwa's mother are not around, since Akane is not a blood relative. Maybe akane should be the adopter, so that when things happen Miwa automatically can take over because of being the blood relative. I don't know Japanese laws though, or how people get around to these kind of situation.

EDIT: Japan does have a legal mechanism through three combined legal documents for Miwa to designate Akane as the backup parent. It does not have a mechanism to give Akane a co-parent power, but this is not important at all in this story, The system even allows Akane to adopt An if Miwa were to pass away. That also means if Miwa wants, she can cut off her mother from ever having a say on An if she wants to and Akane becomes the new mother if Miwa dies. These are those cases where a psychological parentship will be considered more important than bloodline if proper paperworks have been filed.

It's beautiful to say there's no one definite shape of what makes a family a family..

I hope An chan is happy with her family

In my opinion, I think accepting is much more important.

Thank you so much for translating this series, I loved both books and I'm glad so many more people are getting to read them.

It was good but I am more sad that it ended. I really wish we could have gotten more. Still, so happy for this family

This story was so beautiful. I'd love to see a sequel that tales place when An-chan is older

This story was amazing !!! >w<
The ending is very nice even if I'm kinda sad that it had to end that quick.

i'm really sad, but if it continues we'd only get more drama and conflicts so it's probably better that these 3 stay happy forever. i can only imagine how difficult it'd be trying to realistically display akane's or miwa's troubles later on
