The setting is rear palace harem for the crown prince in ancient pseudo-China, so the men would always be around as the structural pillars and the series won't have a pure yuri ending, but also due to that setting most of the meaningful interactions are between the women, and so naturally the bundle of hopeful sunshine that is Reirin would be attracting all the girls waddling in the misery of the setting (and so the ones in deepest shit are pulled in even more, namely Keigetsu and Leelee). And it does not help that Reirin keeps running around pulling all the strongest moves in the romance genre on everyone.
