With all those arrows, they really aimed for the horses when they took out most of the soldiers with arrows, even when they were still mounted. I get one or two to stop the convey, but all of them? Do they not know how valuable a trained horse is (not monetary value, just practical value)?

Don’t know how to feel about the villagers in the most recent chapters. They’re designs and behavior just feels off putting to me. Jolene’s grandmother being Mulai just felt tacked on too ngl—she doesn’t share any of their features nor has she mentioned it before. Also, why did they randomly start understanding Jolene and Hesha when they weren’t speaking the same language?

There is a weird vibe here with our leads wanting to take advantage of these people that in theory don't know the value of their own goods...it's giving colonizer vibes.

Also yeah the language aspect was seemingly just dropped? A very strange choice.

Totally aggree, I am a little disappointed how they want to take advantage of those people who don't know the value of their goods. Typical, rich people getting richer because of basically swindling poor people. I hope they think about it again and stop being greedy.

My thoughts exactly. The swindling gives an ick vibe.

While this series has dealt with violence before, never to this level. It’s starting to feel uncomfortable to read.

I'm thankful for the hot amazon warriors, but I'm not a fan of what seems to be scamming indigenous people.

And Faye's grooming is proceeding excellently. Very good.

So this whole arc is basically:

We were going to the underdeveloped country of people with tanned skin to have some trade, but the local exotic amazon tribals attacked our caravan. So we had to negotiate and are going to buy all of their highly expensive spices and fruits for pennies by lying to them about their worth, which is all fine because our kingdom has actually bought this part of the exotic tanned people land and they were meanies anyway.
