I get that the weather sets the tone for the story but imo there has been no buildup whatsoever. if winter is signifying that Sumin and Sungji will break up then it's just a rehash of events in the story that has been happening since the first arc. the usual plot of wdtfs is how Sumin and Sungji will have a falling out and just immediately make up in the shortest time possible.

Life gives her a decent amount. Wealth and health, two things that people wish for, she has them by birth. Time, she still has it. Career and respect, she achieves them. Freedom, she is getting it, even before chairman's death, she had a choice to free herself from her fam, she just chose not to do it. One person's love is what she is longing for, supposedly all she cares for... she can say that because she does not need to occupy herself with other life necessities. Her upbringing is not great, but I wouldn't go as far as blaming life from taking anything from her or not giving her enough. After all, orphans, slaves and war victims have it worse than her, they survive.

Life doesnt give her care or love, doesnt it? You list all the materialistic stuff and ask a person who lives by feelings and emotions to live on. Its like you give a crying child a toy while that kid is hungry as hell and want to eat.

Go ask depressed people why they are depressed?
They have family, they have career, they have money, they have health (before they fall into depression, that is) so why they committed suicide? Many reasons, at least for them. Go tell them you have family caring for them, you have money, you have a good career then leave them with a stack of sleeping pills, go back tomorrow, let's find out they die or alive.

Look at all the people who committed suicide. Are they all orphans, slaves, or war victims? Or ask depressed people who ask for help from doctor, are they all lacking of love, care, money?

Each case has each way to deal with the situation, you list all of these thing about her and think that's enough for you to force her to live, instead of thinking she herself thinks she is useless and not worthy, that she herself doesnt need a single thing you are listing. Give her a reason to find herself worthy and not useless first. And dont go tell her find inside her or from what she already has or being luckier than many people with blessings. You cant expect her go to nature, to an old house, standing there and magically realize she has a purpose to live. (oh, if TG could do that, I would admire them completely, maybe in that old house have diary about how much her mother loves her, lolllllll)

imo there's not enough build up to anything especially how anti-climatic Sumin and Seju relationship developed. they were like starting to patch things up between them and now Sumin doesn't want to do anything with her considering Seju's situation right now, I'm not saying Sumin should always be there to babysit Seju when something bad happen to her because it is one of the things why Seju can't properly move on but it just doesn't make sense with the recent development of their relationship. it is just odd that on the recent chapters TG showed how much Sumin still care for Seju and now she doesn't want to see Seju anymore right after her father died? shouldn't she be more concern for her more than ever before? it felt like an out of nowhere decision from Sumin.

Seju is god damn selfish and toxic! All she cares about is her past love and her guilt and shit. She does not care about how her existence affect sumin's life. I mean her family is psycho and she knows it, yet she still risk sumin's safety by clinging onto her. If she loves sumin so much, she should just move far far away from her and set her free! And get a god damn life or die already.

interesting, I would love to answer this with a chronological flow of events:

1. Seju immediatly assumed that her family punished them because they found about the nature of their homosexual relationship.. so the scarring happened ch27 (hospital scene)
2. Sumin is the one going back again and again to Seju, because there must have been times when she missed it, those short moment or long periods of time when they meant everything to each other, ch27 (you came)
3. Sumin wouldn't function in other relationships.. she is the one stuck in the past more than Seju.. ch50, and later she decided just to make the lame excuse: because she couldn't match you in bed. (sex excuse) *** as for Seju:
4. Seju hired Sungji and chose a person with idealistic view specifically to be under Sumin's management.. made sure that they would meet and pushed them together
5. ch14, Seju used Sungji's idealism so be with Sumin: she is weaker than she seems.. and she needs someone like you !
6. Seju did want Sumin to move on from ch4 bed talk!! *** then what about ch27 flashback of ch55??

Seju witnessed +31 breakups.. she KNOWS that Sungji will get hurt in the process and warned her.. there is some truth in Seju's words.. and finally Sungji gave in for sex, not only gave in, but urged for it..

very good question, Seju had no reason to hold on to Sumin badly and wanted to let her go for her safety with a person whom she chose carefully (since you know how bad Sumin judges characters, Ms. choi and the likes).. back then Seju didn't know that Sumin kept returning because she LOVES HER.. this information changed the whole thing...

Now, fighting and holding on to Sumin is a responsibility.. because there is something between them in which they are both too coward to end it properly ch64 bed talk.

Sumin's confession is an important moment that changed the whole game.. from Seju who is pushing the two together to the one fighting for Sumin.. and thus the final scene in ch56 "NOW I KNOW" and in ch57:"I am going to get you back"

I hope I made sensible connection what was happening from the beginning to the end.

I got it.. and I knew the purpose.. but I found it interesting anyways because that particular conception is common and the idea was fully clear in my mind to convey it nicely.

the plan changed from letting Sumin go from ch1 all the way to ch54 to getting her back.. because now, there is a reason to(Sumin's confession).. but currently what Seju is doing is waiting because she knows that Sumin feelings didn't change towards her.. but Sumin became more honest about it. all arc three took place in a single month.
(Saehyun arrival was mentioned in ch35, he arrived in ch44.. 8th of October.. and now they are in mid November with Seju's birthday was a few days ago and this newspaper date)

She already knew back then but she still wanted to teach them a lesson, hence indirectly making herself in danger, LOLL, pretty stupid action but badass nonetheless.

The more the story goes, the more Seju's character becomes likeable, I must say.

Except for her blinded love for Sumin that many readers keep saying she should move on, us readers wouldnt have anything else to complain about this character, really.

You guys can fix me if I'm wrong later on but from my view about this Seju character, she is hard to approach, she is friendly but just with enough amount.

Seju is kinda a typical introverted person, I believe, she can be friendly but not easy to trust people around her. She doesnt really open up to people but still welcome them nicely, out of courtesy. One of the reasons why she only had Sumin is herself only opening up to Sumin.

You can see how she still took time to talk to Nammi when that girl came to her office and find her to talk. She even stirred her a cup of coffee. Seju is friendly but with a considerate courtesy. She is very considerate, towards her employees, even to Nammi.

So imo, I dont consider this a flaw, this is her personality. Partly from being bullied since young by her brothers that leads her to cower herself in her shell to protect herself.

I honestly cant imagine a Seju who has alot of friend with bright appearance. I can only imagine a reserved, smart and quiet but very polite and considerate Seju

And one of the typical trait of these people, when they love, they love with all their heart. Gotta say, Seju is built very consistent with her personality.

yes, the timeline is helpful in understanding that these stuff happened too fast in the character's point of view..
- Sumin and Sungji were dating only for 3 months and 10 days when Sungji caught her cheating with Seju.
- Sungji exposure to sexual interaction happened in only 1 month.. from a couple of days before Saehyun arrival to now. (and it all started because of Seju's warning to her in ch27 flashback of ch55)
- Seju stayed with Sumin for around 9 to 10 days only.. imagine that !! from ("sell me the house now".. to "this mitten I knitted for you" to again "I can't, Seju-ah) all in 10 days.

The whole Manhwa starts in April, Sumin and Sungji dated in 5th of July.. and now we are in mid-November)

her character is greatly misunderstood.. her words have multiple meanings.. not necessarily bad.. but her design was for you to look deeper into her instead of immediately empathising, because if you did, then you may not understand Sumin's side or Sungji's point of view about Seju. (in which they both misunderstood Seju as well in many occasions just in this arc alone)

Even though you already make an exception but yeah, Seju's only flaw would be she loves Sumin so much that she forgets her own self xD.

People mistakenly thought that Seju loving Sumin so much is her flaw but actually the lack of self-worthy is her flaw so that she devoted herself to Sumin. So actually, moving on from Sumin or not doesnt fix it xDDDD. She'll still forever a girl who thinks she is useless even without Sumin. The problem is not Sumin but Seju herself xDDD.

Do I want her to learn to love herself? Yes, of course xD, but do I want her to be like a lot of people out there, using their mind even in love, calculate every actions by analyzing about right and wrong and being selfless? Hmmm, I dont think I want that xDDDD

10 years ago, she said that she would wait until she die meaning she has made up her mind that she would never move on since that very moment.
