Hell, that's a long ass post. Its been so long since I actually take time to write it down, lollllll.
https://www.webtoonguide.com/index.php/board/rds01_interview/916
The interview Macysan was referring to i believe. Specifically these parts:
"Q. What is your first idea?
Writer
A. The blonde girl and the black girl started the idea with their beloved story. I would like to be a type of company that has a lot of misunderstandings because the appearance is hard, but the appearance of black hair seems to be tough, but in fact, I would like to be a person who is extremely complex and strong personality. I started with enough to make settings like this.
Q. How long have you started writing the entire story?
Writer
A. Originally, I started to put together a story of about 40 episodes.
Written story after Competition election. I made a character design, but I showed Sexy Min, but I also had a pink high face. So I instantly said that this guy is like a boss, and he is my ex - girlfriend style. So there came a character called Baekseju. The incident was not so much and calm."
My phone automatically translates Korean so someone who can read Korean might want to re-translate it.

I tried to answer.. I had this writer's block. or maybe I'm too gay to think straight right now XDDD
I will comeback.
Since no one is gonna defend SuminxSungji, I will talk about why I chose SuminxSungji as endgame instead xD.
I am also in support of SuminxSungi endgame or everyone parts ending...for Seju's sake. I'd been team pink since the first (or maybe second) sex scene where Seju said "sometimes it feels like you still love me", but as the story progressed, as Seju became more and more miserable, I felt like the best thing for her was to let go.
Bartender - This incident is already insignificant compares to the 10-year struggle they had gone though. Neither Seju nor Sumin will bring it up. Sungi may bring it up, but it will not happen in the present of Seju, so the perspective will still be one sided. In the end, I don't think the incident will resurface.
Sungi - it is 50/50 whether she will stay. Will her love be able to overcome the she-still-loves-her-and-she-probably-loves-her-more-than-she-loves-me feeling?
Sumin - agree with your reasoning that she will not break up with Sungi. She is also the type that once their mind is made up, it is extremely hard to change them. Even Sungj leaves her in the end, I don't think she would go back to Seju. She didn't get back to Seju in Sungi's first breakup, why would you think she would go back to her in the second breakup?
Seju - I hope TG answer this: what is Seju's take away from all these struggles? For me, a (mere) Sumin is no longer sufficient. If sumin gets hit by a bus and dies, I am 90% sure Seju will die within the same week if not the next day. There gotta be a way for her to survive.
No mater who Sumin and Seju end up marrying, they will always be the ones that make their hearts ache the most. #fated.

Edit: to make SejuxSumin a couple in the end, not only Sungji needs realization but also Sumin needs realization, a big one, sth that I dont think she could realize with just a normal life event :), to let Sungji go physically and emotionally :). And its not an easy task, not saying its impossible, with all the events right now, there might be a way, lollll.
here you answered yourself.. and summarised everything I could've said. As from how events progressed in last 10 chapters.. nothing is impossible and we could never imagine it. Even though I am expecting an ending, the road to there will be always a surprise.
I was right, wasnt I? XDDDDDD. The order of character creation xDDDD
well, giving the translation.. I couldn't see anything about "Seju was born unplanned".. if you saw it, please point it to me.
btw, when I read "main couple" kind of expression, I truly can't take the rest of the comment seriously
hlama
Neither Seju nor Sumin will bring it up. Sungi may bring it up, but it will not happen in the present of Seju, so the perspective will still be one sided. In the end, I don't think the incident will resurface.
but it was brought up in ch49 though.. it's there!
oh, let me throw this delusion as well: delusion#1, ch17.. when Sumin was with the redhead.. yes, the strap on scene.. she wasn't only imagining Seju, but she has a mental image of Seju & the bartender in that position.. and that Seju liked it.. "it's in her imagination" and thus she barfed and was traumatised. I wanna say that: ch17, ch49 brought the incident one way or another. Same way the ring issue came up suddenly.. this bartender thing can come up unexpectedly. or maybe not.. I am conflicted about it's possible side effect (which can be disastrous)
Sungi - it is 50/50 whether she will stay. Will her love be able to overcome the she-still-loves-her-and-she-probably-loves-her-more-than-she-loves-me feeling?
not as simple as that, from my point of view. It's rather, did I love Sumin or loved the image I created about her.. this image is not Sumin.
did Sumin love me because she wanted to love me or she redirected her affection..
delusion #2 ch73, the talk in park.. Sungji talks about her brother and sister in law.. the miscarriage they had and redirection of affection.. her question to Sumin wasn't direct.. but it was to discuss the idea I just explained.
"You don’t hate me, you hate the image you created about me, and this image is YOU not ME", Adonis.. I believe his argument is analogous about love and attraction too
She didn't get back to Seju in Sungi's first breakup, why would you think she would go back to her in the second breakup?
correct!.. this is why I wrote a thesis about why it was so wise of TG to not unite them in ch64.. they would've failed once more.. Sungji is not the obstacle.. the problems are within them. would they fix them? and how?.. that's what I yearn to know.

In chap. 53, Sungji used the ring and left it (she did not forget it)to signify that "Leave Team Leader, bad CEO-nim", so why not used this to open up the third season with Seju's involvement? It is more fun this way, right?
I think she did forget the ring and was very upset about this fact.. and hence, she came immediately to pick it up as Seju sent her a message.. if she meant to leave it, she could've sent an SMS saying: "oh.. you take it!"
unless I'm missing something about your idea.
mpgpeg
I don't know if you missed previous posts we discussed ch54 and why did Seju ask for sex. In my believe, Seju didn't originally plan to make Sungji witness that from the beginning.. nor could she expect how the conversation between her and Sumin will turn to be. I also believe that Seju sent the message to Sungji even before Sumin arrive to her office.. and upon Sumin's confession, everything changed. Sex at that moment didn't come to make Sungji witness it, but also to prove something to all the three. you may find this post meaningful
I will list those two facts, because why not:
- ch25, Sungji was so shocked of Sumin's lusty touch till Seju provoked her.. Seju's provocation was the turning point in which Sungji became so eager to have sex. starting from ch29. (why not 26,27,28 though :D )
- was there any truth in Seju's reasoning to why she told Sungji what she told her in ch55 flashback of ch27 "because I pity you" ?.. well, YES. read ch27: "she is drained from love that she can't give or receive" ch45:" Sumin was always in a relationship with no future.. she will always comeback"
Seju knew Sumin for at least 17 years.. and witnessed 31 breakups.. a number that Sumin can't even remember.. so yes! She pities Sungji.. and there is a truth in her perception. And after 31 breakups, Seju isn't an idiot to imagine that Sumin would marry her if Sungji would just walk away in ch27. So why pity Sungji and warn her? mmhm.. depends on how you look at it.

Nora89, at work right now, so apologies if my response feels rushed.
I enjoy your arguments because they are rooted in facts, the manhwa itself. Citations are key in any scientific article or debate. You brought up 2 good points that I honestly have not deeply thought about.
Why was Sumin disgusted after the strap-on scene? I just assumed she wasn't into that stuff and a little had to do with Seju, but yes, you are not incorrect to deduce that she had such a severe reaction because she imagined Seju with the bartender.
Why did Seju pity Sungji? Again, I did not think of it that way. I thought it had more to do with Sungji's innocence, but, again, you are not wrong about her knowing Sungji will eventually get hurt by Sumin. It has happened 31 times already. Why wouldn't she think that? That makes sense, thank you.
About sex as a connectivity test, obviously Sumin and Seju do not have an issue in that department. With Sungji, there are definitely more awkward ones. I would cite the exact chapter if I could, but when Sungji wanted to try something on Sumin and she was too tired. Or all Sungji wants to do is look at Simon's face. Or resorting back to Team Leader in chapter 84. People may have differing interpretations on these, of course. Chemistry depends on perception.
But, that still does not really explain Seju's plan explicitly. Did she want to sit them all down together and...talk? I don't know.
mpgpeg
thanks alot for appreciating.. I find it fair to say: "you are not incorrect" rather than using an absolute statement. I highly respect that.
I will be waiting for your more detailed comment before jumping in.. I know you have much to add.
Nora

not as simple as that, from my point of view. It's rather, did I love Sumin or loved the image I created about her.. this image is not Sumin.
I am not sure where the image vs reality comparison was illustrated. What is her ideal Sumin (please don't say Dawoon)? Mind referencing it so mortals like me can grasp?
Although, the doubt is common in relationship; first attraction, then comes passion, finally reality kicks in. Only when they survive reality, their love will last.
did Sumin love me because she wanted to love me or she redirected her affection..
delusion #2 ch73, the talk in park.. Sungji talks about her brother and sister in law.. the miscarriage they had and redirection of affection.. her question to Sumin wasn't direct.. but it was to discuss the idea I just explained.
This point I agree. Things I got out from the park talk
- miscarriage, infertility, affection -> the pain from your past, the love you cannot give her, the affection you give me.
- did it look that way? -> are you giving me the love you could not give her?
- no, they seem to really like you -> no, the affection is real.
- I should move out -> YOU should move the f*ck out. LoL.

well, well hlama, welcome to my delusions XD
about the first point.. give it time, you don't need to be convinced now. The clues go from chapter one.. but let me shift your attention to Sumin's perspective.. does she sense that Sungji loves an image about her that may not match her reality ?.. well, the answer is YES!
ch51 & ch52
I forgot to say this, I never denied the reality that Sumin likes Sungji and loves her.. regardless of the guilt she feels. However, Sumin knows best that even greater love and more sex won't be enough to make a relationship survive.
off-topic: the way you restated ch73 reminded me of how Foxy lady explained the "the resignation letter, wine bottles, Sumin's button" in ch55. I like this style.. so organised.

I have more to add about the possibilities of the ending in regards to what was said in the interview, but that would have to wait until... 10 pm maybe (or 3 hours from now)? Unless I find the time before that. It also relates to the two relationship dynamics.
Feel free to share your thoughts. Always interested to hear them.
Q. Is the ending condition fixed?
Gyeomji : I'm not the style to start without ending.
Q : Is the ending already planned? Or could it be changed? Seju x Sumin pleaseㅠㅠ
Gyeomji : Of course it had been already planned, it may change, but I don't think I will change the ending. (So vague)
Q : Which character do you like the most?
Gyeomji : The three of them are all dear to me but I have some weak spots for Seju
Es0teric
hehehehe...

Gaji (the artist), said that she wanted to marry Seju.
Dear Team Gaji, you created the dream girl for every lesbo out there

/u/ have more in the latest comments if you or anyone else is interested.
Es0teric Thanks a lot.. I will go check them. :D
Edit:
I saw their correction of the translation.. my God, I hope they fix ch83 translation too.
about Ms. Choi scene.. it was truly funnier in the official version ch12:
(from the bar)
Ms. Choi: Sumin, are you crying?
Sumin .. Sumin
Sumin: Ms. Choi, are you crying?
(from a hotel room~) respect.. hehehe !!!!
I quote:
"Q. Sumin is the one talking 'Are you crying?' Why did the manager person(Ms. Choi/redhead) cry??
A. Phew, I give you a reply considering you have no hidden meaning in your question. She cried because She likes it/She feels so good."

ah, hlama..this just slipped my mind
I should move out -> YOU should move the f*ck out. LoL.
from your point of view, Sungji's moving out is a metaphor for Sumin's moving on. Then what does Sumin's insistence to keep the house mean?
Dammit.. I'm smirking uncontrollably now hehehe
Foxy lady
The act in itself justify my claim of Sungji's sense of righteousness,i.e., to protect Sumin from bad Seju.
I agree on the motive ✔︎
Considering these points:
a.it was already very late when Sumin and her was in the stairs or after midnight. The elevator is not functioning. It is highly probable she used the stairs when she went up. So, time element in here.
I disagree on this.. I think it was something around 10:00 to 11:00
why is that?.. Sungji saw the massage 9:39.. before she reached home.. and as good employee, she would go back immediately.
The elevator matter: I believe Sungji ran the stairs maybe to avoid waiting for the elevator.
b.With all these happening, do you think Sungji can sleep and set the alarm by mistake?
I agree she couldn't sleep.. and going to work early is a mechanism to avoid staying home and thinking about it. However, the ring is another case. Sungji would not put herself in a position where Sumin would question her sooner or later intentionally.. let alone angering Sumin. The ring meant alot to Sungji.. or why would she still pick it up after Seju tossed it in an arrogant manner to her?
I looked at ch53 again, Sungji was surprised as Sumin asks her about the ring.. she was truly worked up.

I know I'm missing your point somewhere.. I apologise

I was going to come up with some ways a Sungji and Sumin ending may make sense, but those quotes are interesting... What is the source of that interview, Es0teric?
Maybe this has been pointed out before, but whose twitter is this exactly? https://twitter.com/alggumba
I know @gaji0712 is Team Gaji's official twitter, but if it is not that account posting the new update on Lezhin, it is the other account above.

I get what you are trying to say now.. mmhm.
gotta think about it some more
When Seju tossed the ring, she released a hurt that she kept for 10 years. A ring that means so much to her before but didn't make a difference to keep them together. In the same way, at that moment, Sumin gave Sungji the ring but there was no meaning to it. She knew it by how much Sumin responded to her sexually.
on point!!

Hmmm, thanks for asking the obvious, appreciated. – ﹏ –.
Short answer. She could not let go. She tried (to show herself she was trying). Returning everything else that was insignificant but left out the one thing that matters.
Unlike other gifts,
- they adopted the house for each other. Sumin chose the house because it was close to work, close to Seju. Seju bought the house because Sumin liked it.
- the house is probably the oldest gift from Seju that Sumin keeps (if she actually tossed away her ring). The space holds time and memory.
- when they made love in that house, it was so gentle...unlike the hotel f!ck. Did Sungi and Sumin ever have (uninterrupted) sex in that house? I don't remember.
- When
-- Seju asked "if you don't like my name that much, you can always leave."
-- Sumin answered "you bought the house because of me". I also read it as "I chose the house because of you".
She is (subconsciously?) holding on to their space, time and memory.
But don't go celebrate just yet. Contradiction is Sumin's trademark. I believe it will doom her relationship with both Seju and Sungi, as a result, setting my Seju free (<- only thing that matters!!!)
Foxy lady, mmhm.. when I think about it from where you are looking at it, it makes sense. However, Leaving the ring intentionally signifies abandoning the promises she has with Sumin.. regardless of what those promises mean to Sumin. Your point has so much reasonable sense to it.. but would still contradict with other sensible points from where I currently stand.. I am trying to find a middle ground between these two meaningful views.. but lately, I've been failing at that XD.
hlama
listen buddy, I like how you argue.
Everything you said is on point.. and I knew how you thought about it from your previous comment XD. Foxy lady pointed that at me before,
Sumin and Seju used to sleep together at Seju's house 10 years ago.. in fact, their first time was at Seju's. ch8, ch72. The choice of the house to be near "Seju" is not the only matter in here.. Sumin's arrangement of her bed.. the view she looks at every night reminds her of Seju's house 10 years ago and the feelings associated to it. She can't let go these memories and feelings.

@alggumba: this is the writer's account.
@gaji0712: this is the artist's account.
Thank you Nora89 and Es0teric for answering my questions.
It seems the writer does like Seju, if her avatar is any indication, but that may be reading too much into things.
I will stand by my first comment regarding the ending for now. But I was contemplating how the writer came up with the three characters and the story in the first place. She originally thought of Sumin and Sungji first and it seemed like she wanted Sumin to have a major backstory.
"I would like to be a type of company that has a lot of misunderstandings because the appearance is hard, but the appearance of black hair seems to be tough, but in fact, I would like to be a person who is extremely fussy and strong personality." - translated quote
Then Seju may have been created as a part of Sumin's backstory initially. Please, correct me if I am wrong for thinking this. It would be possible, given Sumin and Seju's backstories are so intertwined.
Basically, I guess the writer fell in love with the character, Seju, after creating her. Given, of course, if those other quotes are true. What does that mean for the ending? We'll see, both sides can argue here. Seju does have more weight to the story now than previously thought though, with the recent quotes found by Es0teric.
Like in my first comment, I would like an ending that makes sense. I hope we get more interviews from Team Gaji on their writing process once it is revealed.
Since you guys are on the topic of Sungi's ring (I have my take on whether Sungi intentionally left the ring but will let you two sort it out), after Sumin knew Sungi misplaced her ring, why did she take off hers as well?
