The first ch and anime is cringe train that make the reader go suicide, but it actually made a deep relationship between the reader and our mojo.
I actually remember that. I literally had to watch half an episode, do something else for a while, then finish episode. Plus the fans were worried that the manga would have her try to kill herself and then laugh it off like when she thought she was being molested on the train. By the way, I think that was one of the best depictions of that issue ever, really. The only comparable one is in Girl Friends when the prettiest girl, who sleeps around, gets molested on a train and realizes she doesn't want to talk to any of her boyfriends, just her girlfriend. Who calls her out over it. But anyway, the anime was amazing but not enjoyable, and it took me four episodes to realize why the intro was the way it was.
