they're were "orcs" earlier on which were also monster dudes which gets me thinkin' why do the japanese always depict orcs as pigs any reasons ?

Pig-like orcs are definitely a thing they got from the West, a lot of older depictions suich earlier versions of Dungeons and Dragons, or the D&D animated series, have them as outright pig-men.

That last chapter (chap 38) was really awesome. Lala found a way to save the day - AND a little girl. =,)

Lala is such a weird character. While every other girl has been made in such a way to make their abilities somewhat plausible, Lala downright does magic.

You know there's something wrong with your life when the hospital is surprised at the LACK of injuries...

I know it's a gag/fanservice manga and I shouldn't be taking it seriously, but I'd like to point out that the mermaid queen...

A) attempted to destroy a critical step in extraspecies relations
B) caused political havoc in her own kingdom and risked the safety and sanity of an innocent scylla
C) made a half-hearted attempt on the life of someone her daughter loves
D) stood idly by and watched as her daughter was battered by rocks and almost driven into a bed of spikes

....all because she really likes tragic stories. I want to see someone slap her VERY hard, and in a VERY unfunny way.

I found more worrisome the implication that every mermaid (or at least the Royal family) are willing to commit themselves to any kind of BS just to satisfy their tragedy fetish.

The only semi-magical thing is a kind of ESP when you have an NDE - probably related to her head/body ESP.

As for the girl? Ummmm. Lala pried out one of Zombina's teeth with a pliars that she's holding behind her back. Lala then "bit" the girl with Zombina's tooth (presumably by driving it into her neck) after asking her if she "wanted power." Chuunibyou-speak for "Do you want to be strong again?" Then Zombina's zombiness infected the girl and she died and came back as a zombie.

It's a kinder, gentler Zombie Apocalypse. Both Lala and Zombina are technically undead, after all.

Also, agreeing that she's the closest thing to a magical girl with super powers makes it even funnier that she's so dissatisfied with her life she spends most of it in a fantasy daze imagining herself much more magical and bad-ass than she actually is.

I think LaLa is cute. And like all the girls in the series, deep down a wonderful person. But she needs to not lose her head over emotional attachments......
