This is an interesting exercise in literary devices.
Mint chocolate -> sweet intimacy dampened by bitter reality (i.e. convetional social stigmas, social differences, inappropriate power dynamics)
Offering a taste -> the sweet imagination of an intimate connection
Pulling away sharply -> bitter reality crashing down
Kouhai knows offering her ice cream bar would be rejected -> not bitter enough for the chief
Kouhai likens the mint to toothpaste -> reluctant healthy appreciation for the circumstances of their reality
Kouhai is bad with mint chocolate but doesn't hate it -> though the indulgence wroughts discomfort, reveling in the imagined joys of unlikely experiences offers an ameliorating justification.

Not really a good short comic, I think. Conversation was kinda weird and the main character's remarks weren't very interesting... I'd say the art is bad but I set the bar really low when it comes to online mini-comics, so I guess it's an "ok".

I'm thankful for the translators' work, nonetheless. Sometimes we end up getting some hidden gems.

It was alright. I guess stories with symbolism are cool, well I could imagine the author thinking the same way as the kouhai, but that would be sad

What if it's based on author experience, that's why it's so short since there's no further development irl happens all the time.
Could imagine a conversation like this really happened.

Having a line drawn between you and someone you want to form a relationship with is kind of sad. In my case, it was a line barring friendship, but it still stings.

I feel a lot like the MC of this work. I don't hate it but I certainly didn't like it.
