Feel bad for roka buh she doesn't really has the kind of emotional attachment that yachiyo and kaguya have to iroha

am i the only one that doesnt understand why people think roka has feelings for iroha? the movie did not give me that impression at all.

It's from the light novel for the movie.

I didn't get that impression either but then the artbook was released which revealed she had feelings for her. So all of a sudden everyone started making angst posts and fanart/fanworks about it. My guess is that it was cut from the movie for time. Perhaps it's explored a little more in the light novels

^ It's not really apparent in the novel either. The intention doesn't seem to be to give her angst, she's fully behind Kaguya and her hidden feelings are just a detail that enhances the context of her character if you know about them. In the Ray music video there's a scene of Iroha at school looking prim and proper while her reflection in the window is barely holding on. This is from Roka's point of view who then comes into the scene. Early in the movie she tells Iroha she needs to lighten up and stop working so hard. Later on she notices Kaguya has changed Iroha and made her much more cheerful. It's all consistent with Roka's description in the guidebook which mentions she noticed Iroha's struggles but can't break through to her.

Rather than it being angsty i imagine she's actually happy iroha finally has someone that can help her stop pushing herself too hard

Maybe its a ¿marketing strategy? lol idk how to say this in english, but is not rare for extra content to add some details that creates new ships in fandom, shippers invest a lot after all

people just saw angst potential when the artbook dropped the lore of roka's feelings. it's just good fun (for everyone but Roka)

ive seen Roka x Otako in the wild, and i gotta say i dig it

The novel also confirms Iroha's brother Asahi and Noi, the other member of Black Onyx who uses a crossdressing avatar, are a couple by the epilogue timeskip. In the movie you can see Asahi wearing a ring on his left ring finger in the scene at Iroha's lab so it's supposed to be true there as well. I don't think it's a calculated strategy, rather just details they couldn't focus on because they aren't main characters and the movie is already very long and stuffed full as-is.
