This is slightly pedantic, but no, the TL has made some little adjustments. It's usually just to make the Japanese pun (usually with "baka") into an English one. For instance, "Gravitwit" was originally just "Baka Gravity" -- I bet that sounds like something in Japanese that a native speaker would catch, but "Idiot Gravity" does nothing like that for us.

Other times the TL has chosen to match the English title of a work. "Baka Man Star Force", a currently-timely Mega Man Star Force reference, is the one that got me curious -- I just had to know if it was originally "Ryuusei no Bakaman" to match the JP title. (It was.) "Frozedense" is the title that loses the most. Japan likes to give Disney films more descriptive titles; their version of Frozen is "Ana to Yuki no Joou" (Anna and the Snow Queen). So the JP chapter was "Ana to Baka no Joou" -- except there's a SECOND change. Anna's name has gone from アナ (katakana, standard for foreign names) to 穴 (kanji, making it the word "hole" -- like in Nozoki Ana or Ana Satsujin). Presumably that ties in with the second-page line about a "gaping hole in the stage we've set". Good luck trying to do anything comparable with the single word "Frozen"!

i mean this is all stuff you'd expect during the localization process, the main conceit of "reference mixed with a joke about idiots" is transfered, as are the things being referenced themselves, the frozen joke is one that as the poster said just cant be rendered the same with the english title

She's the presidents lackey pretty much, although i don't think her actual position was ever mentioned. I assume that subplot with having a fiance was scrapped during the concept stage and given to Sae instead, as it seems similar, and Tatewaki is even treated with the same level of contempt as Sae's fiance

The last chapter were without climax, a simple tornament is not what this girl deserve

I loved HayatexBlade, it's so different from anything I've really read and the art has been consistently really good. I've grown to love all the characters (and there are A LOT) but they're all distinct with their personalities and quirks and stupidness. I started off really liking Jun (and Yuuho), then moved to Inori (she's surprisingly chill and likes to troll Claire) in the end, but Yukari at the end was a surprise like (an absolute brutal demon with the scariest tsukkomis lol).

Hayate's nickname for everyone was great too because it helps when you can't remember their name, but I love that everyone just accepts that about her.

HayatexBlade 2 definitely felt like it was cut short but I also can't see any real conclusion I would've been happy about. I kinda like the open endedness where they're just always playing around with the sword and battling each other.

Anyway, thank you to the translators for picking this up. I really appreciate you all. Also, am I crazy or are they just not selling the translated volumes? I have both omnibuses but haven't been able to find anymore.

Finally finish reading after all those time, the end is absolutely perfect for the series. There are some extra contents of them being adults in a doujin by the author, I wonder if someone will translate that in the future.
